Quacquarelli Symonds Ranks George Washington Online MBA Program 12th World-Wide

According to a press release on the school website, the George Washington University School of Business Online MBA program placed 12th in a recent ranking of the best “distance-learning programs” in the world. The list was crafted by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a global provider of specialist higher education and career information and solutions. GWSB’s online MBA program also ranked fourth in the United States.

Students enrolled in the GWSB Online MBA program can complete all of their coursework online. Digital courses are organized into learning episodes and are comprised of videos, video cases, podcasts, animations and other pre-recorded content in addition to traditional reading assignments. The program offers the following concentrations to students:

  • Consulting
  • Finance
  • Global Management
  • Government Contracts
  • Information Systems and Technology Management
  • Project Management

In a statement following the ranking’s release, GWSB Dean Linda A. Livingstone said,

“Online learning is a rapidly growing area in post-graduate education, and the GW School of Business has been at the forefront in its use of technology to develop and deliver academically rigorous, innovative educational programming for its growing number of distance-learning students.”

She added,

“Our consistently strong showing in such rankings is solid evidence of our commitment and success.”

According to QS, the rankings provide:

  • A comparative tool to help prospective international students shortlist potential universities on a global scale
  • A rudimentary map of the international higher education landscape, which can, and has been used as a component in both institutional and government strategic decision making

QS World University Rankings are an annual league table of the top 600 universities in the world. Compiled by QS in close consultation with an international advisory board of leading academics QS Distance Online MBA Rankings are created based on 18 indicators in six key areas for each school: student quality, establishment in the online MBA market, faculty and teaching, class experience, and diversity.
