George Washington School of Business Earns $4.8 Million Gift

George Washington School

GW Today reports that the George Washington University School of Business recently received a $4.8 million gift, although it is not yet disclosed exactly from where the funding came from. These funds have been committed toward supporting a new professorship in the school. According to GWSB Dean Linda Livingstone,

“This endowed professorship will provide our outstanding faculty with significant resources as we continue to grow the body of meaningful scholarship and teaching excellence conducted at the GW School of Business. We are deeply grateful for the generous gift and the impact it will have on the future of the school.”

This endowment advances the efforts of “Making History: The Campaign for GW” — a fundraising effort that has raised more than $900 million of the school’s $1 billion goal. Over the course of the campaign’s fundraising efforts, more than 20 new endowed professorships have been created at George Washington School of Business.

In other fundraising news at GWSB, last week, the school participated in its fourth consecutive #GivingTuesday, the international day of giving for nonprofit organizations. In the past four years, gifts made on #GivingTuesday have supported student aid, specific colleges and schools, athletics, student life and George Washington libraries.

“When you give to GW, you give the gift of education,” said Aristide Collins, vice president for Development and Alumni Relations. “Wherever you choose to direct your support, you create opportunities for GW students and faculty to make history.”
