Baltimore, Washington DC Schools To Host Global Business School Conference

Baltimore, Washington DC Schools

Three of the top business schools from the Washington DC and Baltimore metro areas will co-host the 12th annual Global Business School Network Conference, this November in Washington DC.The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB), The Kogod School of Business at American University and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business are the three business schools set to host the event.

Each year, the Global Business School Network Conference provides an opportunity for business educators from around the world to come together and exchange ideas. The conference is open to senior leadership, faculty and program directors from business schools, as well as development professionals, management consultants, government officials and corporate HR and training managers.

This year’s conference will focus on “Intersections of Business Education and Economic Development.” Research presentations, networking opportunities and speakers from various sectors including industry and business education will help enlighten those in attendance on ways business schools can interact with business, academic government, and nonprofit organizations to improve economic development and increase opportunities.

Bryan Andriano, Executive Director of GWSB’s Global & Experiential Education department, says that it’s an honor for his school to be co-hosting the prestigious event:

“Innovation in teaching and learning, and the practice of global business come from meaningful discussions and partnerships. Gathering with colleagues from across the globe to discuss challenges and their solutions for business and society is central to the mission of our school and the future of business education.”

Meanwhile, Rebecca L. Bellinger, Managing Director of the Office of Global Initiatives and the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at the Smith School, thinks the event is not only prestigious but also very important:

“We are excited to co-host this important global conference. Working together as business educators–regardless of where we are based–is critical to creating programs that develop strong leaders who can innovate to tackle big problems throughout the world.”
