George Washington Dean Discusses Women in Business at White House Event

women's leadership

Linda A. Livingstone, dean of the George Washington University School of Business, participated in a panel presentation hosted by the White House Council on Women and Girls and the Council of Economic Advisers. The panel, made up of leaders from the business and business school communities as well as other stakeholders, focused on opportunities for the business community and business schools to work together to adapt to the changing needs of the workforce by expanding opportunity for women in business.

According to a press release on the GWSB website, Livingstone joined representatives from more than 40 business schools in “committing to a set of best practices to build a business school experience that prepares women for the workforce of tomorrow.”

These best practices focus on four key areas:

  • Ensuring access to business schools and business careers
  • Building a business school experience that prepares students for the workforce of tomorrow
  • Ensuring career services that go beyond the needs of traditional students
  • Exemplifying how organizations should be run

Livingstone is proof that woman can achieve great things in the business world. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of AACSB International and Graduate Management Admission Council, is a member of the Impact of Business Schools Task Force for AACSB International, and is a member of Young President’s Organization. She received her BS, MBA, and PhD from Oklahoma State University.
