Rice / Jones MBA Essay Topics and Deadlines 2016-2017
The Rice University – Jones Graduate School of Business admissions committee has announced the Jones MBA essay topics and deadlines for applicants targeting the Full-Time MBA Class of 2019. Jones MBA applicants will respond to two required essays as well as an optional essay. Reapplicants to the program are required to complete an additional Reapplicant Essay.
The 2016-2017 Rice / Jones MBA essay topics are:
Essay 1
Describe your short-term and long-term goals, and how the MBA will help you to achieve those goals. Include in your discussion: Why is now the appropriate time to pursue an MBA and why are you interested in obtaining a Rice MBA?(750 words)
Essay 2
Applicants to the Rice / Jones Full-Time MBA must choose one of the following three options:
- “Describe a defining moment or event that changed your life.” (300 words)
- Tweet: “If you had to tweet something to the world for the first time about yourself, what would you tweet?” (140 characters)
- Video: “Introduce yourself to your classmates in a 90 second video.”
Optional Essay
You may use this essay to discuss anything else that you would like the Admissions Committee to know about you, or to provide information or clarification on any aspect of your application. (Maximum 750 words)
Reapplicant Essay
Think about the time that has elapsed since you last applied to the Jones School. What actions have you taken to improve your candidacy?” (Maximum 750 words)
The 2016-2017 Rice / Jones Full-time MBA Deadlines are:
Round 1
Application Deadline: October 5, 2016
Decision Notification: December 15, 2016
Round 2
Application Deadline: January 9, 2017
Decision Notification: April 5, 2017
Round 3
Application Deadline: April 7, 2017
Decision Notification: May 10, 2017
