No Sleep Till Tysons: McDonough Evening Program Expands
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business recently announced its plans to offer its MBA Evening Program in Tysons, Va., beginning in the fall of 2014.
Students enrolled in the new program will attend classes at Convene, a New York-based conference center network that is about to open up its first Washington Metro location this year at 1800 Tysons Boulevard.
The Tysons cohort will uphold the same high academic standards and rigor characteristic that is emblematic of the Georgetown MBA, featuring the same curriculum and faculty as the main campus programs. Georgetown’s MBA Evening Program is the region’s highest ranked part-time MBA, coming in at #11 in U.S. News & World Report in 2013 rankings.
Georgetown McDonough chose Tysons for its MBA Evening Program expansion due to its immediacy to the region’s strong business community as well the arrival of Metro’s Silver Line in 2014, which will make the commute to the Georgetown program easier for students arriving from full-time jobs.
“Combining the economic growth of Tysons, the reputation of the Georgetown McDonough MBA, and the accessibility to the region afforded by the new Metro Silver Line, the arrival of the Georgetown MBA Evening Program to Tysons will benefit hundreds of students and employers in the area,” said Elaine Romanelli, senior associate dean for MBA programs. “We look forward to becoming part of the thriving Northern Virginia business community.”
