Faculty Profile: Lake Forest Graduate School of Management’s Atakan Arica

Lake Forest MBA

Atakan Arica was recently profiled in a Faculty Spotlight article on Lake Forest Graduate School of Management’s Lake Effects blog. Arica joined the Business Leader Faculty of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM) in 2013 and currently teaches Global Business and Cultural Diversity, Leading Organizational Change, and Business Analytics and Research.

According to his entry in LFGSM’s faculty directory, Arica is Managing Director of Arica International Corporation, which is a boutique firm focusing on management consulting, international business development and project management.

Lake Effects asked Arica why he chose to become a faculty member at LFGSM:

“But what I liked about Lake Forest Graduate School of Management was that the students were being taught by faculty who were still actively involved in business leadership. When I researched some of the faculty, I found practicing professionals who were bringing their day-to-day experience into the classroom as business owners, or as executives managing strategy and operations for corporations.”

The blog then asked the businessman and professor what type of feedback he receives from new prospective MBAs who are just starting at Lake Forest.

“Students comment that they appreciate the immediate practical application of what they learn in class.  They can take it into their business environment the next day and start solving real problems with tools they have learned at Lake Forest. The material is that current and relevant.”

LFGSM prides itself on bringing in business leaders from across the country like Arica to make up its faculty. Due to Lake Forest’s 100 percent business leader faculty, MBA students receive top training from proven and successful executives with practical experience to share.
