Babson Entrepreneurship Professors Recognized by US Association for Small Business Entrepreneurship

Babson College Entrepreneurship Professors Patricia G. Greene and Heidi Neck have been named 2014 Justin G. Longenecker Fellows by The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). The USASBE Justin G. Longenecker Fellows Award is given to individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of entrepreneurship and small business, and the award is the highest honor that the USABE awards for entrepreneurship development.

The USASBE is the largest academic organization in the world dedicated to entrepreneurial advancement. The USASBE has selected sixty six individuals since 1966 as Longenecker Fellows. Previous award winners have been educators, government officials, researchers, trade association leaders, and small business advocates. The award recognizes individuals whose passion for entrepreneurship and small business is reflected in their work.

Professor Patricia G. Greene is the Paul T. Babson Chair in Entrepreneurship at Babson College. She is also the National Academic Director for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative, and a founding member of the Diana Project, a research group that focuses on women and the venture capital industry. Greene studies the combination, identification, and acquisition of entrepreneurial resources with a focus on minority and female entrepreneurs.

Professor Neck is the Jeffrey A. Timmons Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies and the Faculty Director of the Babson Symposia for Entrepreneurship Educators (SEE). She is also the director of The Babson Entrepreneur Experience Lab, a partnership between the Business Innovation Factory and Babson College.

Greene, Neck, and Candida Brush have written a book called Teaching Entrepreneurship: A Practice-Based Approach that will be released by Elgar Publishing in June 2014.
