Terry College of Business Offers New Programs for Full-Time MBAs

Scheller

The University of Georgia Terry College of Business has expanded their offerings for Full-Time MBA students. These expansions include new concentrations in healthcare and human resource management, a redesigned program in leadership, and a new area emphasizing consulting.

These changes are made possible by the Full-Time MBA Program’s move to a new facility on UGA’s Athens Campus. The 74,000-square-foot Correll Hall, which includes ten classrooms, team rooms, a graduate commons and business innovation lab, will be the college’s first step in their plan to build a Business Learning Community.

According to Santanu Chatterjee, associate professor of economics and director of the Full-Time MBA program, “The new concentrations, emphasis in consulting and renewed focus on leadership are a direct reflection of the needs we hear from employers. We pride ourselves on producing graduates who are ready to hit the ground running on the day after graduation, and the new courses of study we’ve introduced will help our graduates be even more valuable to their employers.”

The healthcare management concentration will offer MBAs a foundation in applying the principles of business to healthcare organizations. The human resource management concentration, its creation the result of student requests, will build a strategic approach to managing human resources within complicated organizations. The new area of emphasis in consulting will utilize both hands-on and case-based work to prepare students for careers in consulting throughout a variety of industries. Finally, a partnership with the Athens Area Community Foundation will revise the focus of the MBA Leadership Fellows program to center around crisis management and service learning.
