KSU’s Coles College of Business Among Top 50 Part-Time MBA Programs in U.S.

Bloomberg Businessweek has named the Kennesaw State University’s Michael J. Coles College of Business’ part-time MBA program as 50th in the country. Coles College is additionally ranked as one of the top 5 programs in Georgia, alongside Emory University, Georgia State University and University of Georgia.

The publication’s 2015 ranking of business schools evaluates schools on a variety of factors, with student satisfaction and post-MBA success heavily emphasized. Other factors include job post-graduation job satisfaction and compensation, evaluated via an alumni survey. This year, the ranking recognized 74 part-time MBA programs throughout the nation.

Dean of Coles College, Kathy Schwaig, commented on how recognition for the program gave credit to the hard work of students and faculty. “We are proud to be recognized among the leading business schools in Georgia and the nation,” she said. “…The high level of student satisfaction shown in this ranking validates what we do as a college of business.”

Coles College enrolls over 350 students in their part-time MBA program. Offering opportunities for students with non-traditional schedules, the part-time MBA allows working professionals to still earn their degree even though they cannot attend school full-time. Students in the program can move at their own pace, with courses offered on the weekends, in the evenings and with “minimesters” in the summer and winter months.

Timothy Mathews, director of MBA programs at KSU’s Coles College of Business, said that the recognition from Bloomberg Businessweek honors the quality of education provided by the graduate school. According to Mathews: “As one of the best MBA programs in the country, we are able to provide our students with the necessary business skills and acumen to excel in their careers and ultimately achieve their professional goals.”
