Suffolk Celebrates EMBA 40th Anniversary

Suffolk University will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Executive MBA program at the Sawyer School of Business. The program, which was founded in 1975, was the first EMBA program in New England. The program has welcomed almost 2,000 alumni through the program. The anniversary celebration will be held Nov. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will be held at the Union Club of Boston.

The Suffolk Executive MBA program is a 16 month program with classes held at the Suffolk campus in Boston on Saturdays. The Suffolk EMBA was designed for mid-career and senior-level executives. Suffolk’s program is taught in a cohort structure and includes four residential seminars. The Sawyer EMBA also features a Global Travel Seminar. The Global Travel Seminar features realize case studies at major global businesses.

The EMBA program at Sawyer begins every September. Applications for the program run on a rolling basis but those interested in receiving financial aid or scholarships should complete the application process by the March 15 priority application deadline. Suffolk only admits a maximum of 25 students per cohort. Suffolk sponsors EMBA students who require F1 visas for international students. Although it is designed for working professionals with Saturday courses, it is still considered a full-time program.

In order to be considered for admission for the Executive MBA program at Sawyer, applicants are required to have seven or more years of professional experience. Applicants must also have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. In some special cases, the admissions office may consider an applicant who does not have a degree if they have exceptional professional achievements.
