Terry Alumnus Selected for AACSB’s Influential Leader Award

Daniel P. Amos, Terry College of Business alumnus, has recently been named as one of the Top 100 Influential Leaders by the AACSB, the global membership association and accrediting body for business schools.

Amos, a 1973 graduate of Terry College, now serves as chairman/CEO for Aflac. Currently the leading provider of individual insurance policies at worksites in the United States, Aflac revenues have increased from $2.7 billion to over $23.9 billion during Amos’ leadership.

Amos has remained connected with Terry College throughout his professional career, recently chairing the national campaign cabinet for the college’s Building Terry Campaign, raising more than $121 million for the college. In honor of his generous support, the college has named their new Business Learning Community for him.

Terry College Dean, Benjamin C. Ayers, recognized Amos for his support throughout the years. “Dan Amos has truly been a great friend and supporter of the Terry College, and we are proud to see him recognized among the nation’s influential leaders in business and for his impact on society. His leadership and support have been essential in our efforts to develop the next generation of business leaders.”

Amos joins a number of distinguished leaders on AACSB’s list, including the CEO of the world’s largest global relief serve, a leader in technology working to cure cancer, and a president responsible for reviving the toy industry. The list includes over 20 industry sectors over 21 countries.

AACSB made their selections based on submissions of notable alumni from AACSB-accredited schools. From these submissions, individuals were evaluated through stories of their positive impact on society.
