Foster School Creates FREE MBA Rankings Calculator

MBA calculator

New MBA Rankings Calculator, developed with the help of University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, helps MBA students leverage rankings data. The calculator allows students to use data from U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Financial Times, Forbes, and M7 Financial to find top-30 MBA programs that best fit their needs.

The MBA Rankings Calculator works by allowing applicants to create a custom list of best-fit schools by choosing data that’s most pertinent to them. They can filter results based on salary and placement, student selectivity, employer reputation, faculty research, return on investment, and more. The calculator allows candidates to weight each metric by distributing a total of 100 points across ten metrics. Then, based on the results, students can fine-turn their search.

Ryan Walsh, the Full-Time Foster School MBA student who helped develop the calculator, spoke about his work in a recent school press release.

“This tool would have been invaluable as a prospective MBA student,” he said. “With so many different lists and rankings, it was difficult to find the ‘right’ one. The MBA Rankings Calculator allows applicants to set the parameters and create a ranking system based on what is important to them. It would have helped me quickly see which schools were right for me.”

The Foster School developed the calculator to help MBA applicants make informed decisions about their program of choice. The purpose is to help students jumpstart their MBA research process by using the top rankings in the world to narrow down a list of schools that best-fit a student’s priorities.

Andrea Bowers, the woman behind the conception of the calculator believes that “It complements the wealth of school information on the MBA rankings sites by allowing you to rate options based on your own goals.”
