Clark Atlanta MBA Alumna Named President of Coca-Cola Foundation

Coca Cola Company

A Clark Atlanta MBA Alumna has recently been announced as the new President of The Coca-Cola Foundation.

MBA Alumna Helen Price Smith has been with The Coca-Cola Company since 1993, when she joined as the Corporate External Affairs Director. In 2001, she assumed the role of Assistant Vice President and Group Director of Global Community Affairs and Executive Director of The Coca-Cola Foundation. In this position, Price was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the global Foundation, including such things as grant making and financial requirements. Price will be taking over for CAU Trustee Emerita Lisa Borders, who left her role as President in March to become President of the WNBA.

Price achieved success in business even before joining The Coca-Cola Company in ‘93. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Spelman College before attending the Master of Business Administration program at Clark Atlanta University. After earning her MBA, Price was licensed as a certified public accountant, holding roles in the tax and accounting departments at BellSouth Corporation and Arthur Andersen & Co.

Bea Perez, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, commented on Price’s hard work and commitment to serving the community:

“I am confident that under Helen’s leadership, the Foundation will continue to flourish and grow while strengthening communities around the world.”

Price is a native of Atlanta, and has committed herself fully to the community in a myriad of ways. She serves on the boards of the Woodruff Arts Center’s Alliance Theatre, the Association of Corporate Contributions Professionals and The Villages at Carver Family YMCA.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to lead The Coca-Cola Foundation and shape the Company’s philanthropic strategy,” Price commented. “It’s an honor to be a part of an organization that has such deep-rooted cultural commitments to giving back to communities through contributions of talent, time and resources.”
