Robinson Welcomes Record Number of New Graduate Students

This year, the Georgia State University—J. Mack Robinson College of Business is celebrating a record number of new graduate students, with a 22 percent increase since fall 2015.

Both applicant and enrollment numbers have increased from the prior year. For 2016, the college received 2,117 applications for its graduate programs, with 588 enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs. This marks a 12 percent increase in applicants from the prior year and a 22 percent overall increase in enrollment.

The three fastest growing graduates programs at Robinson are the master of science in analytics, the master of professional accountancy program and the master of science in information system. The master of science in analytics has seen a 33 percent increase since its introduction in 2015, while the master of professional accountancy program has increased by 35 percent over the past three years. The master of science in information systems has witnessed an even larger three-year increase, growing by a rate of 70 percent in that time.

There’s been good news for undergraduate programs at Robinson as well: the undergraduate business program was ranked 63rd overall by the U.S. News & World Report‘s 2017 list of “Best Colleges”. The school was 41st among public universities.

Georgia State itself managed to secure a few accolades from the report as well, including a high-ranking honor of 4th overall among the “Most Innovative” national universities list.

Three specialty undergraduate programs also took high rankings in the 2017 report. Robinson’s risk management and insurance program earned the impressive 4th spot on the ranking, with computer information systems coming in at 7th then real estate, which sat 12th on the list.

The Robinson College of Business at Georgia State is home to more Georgia executives than any other school. In addition to the many graduate programs experiencing growth this year, Robinson offers a flex MBA, professional MBA and an executive MBA program, in addition to several specialized masters (such as business economics or global hospitality management) and many dual degree programs.
