Terry Full and Part-Time MBA Rise in ‘U.S. News’ Graduate School Rankings

Terry Full

Multiple MBA offerings at the University of Georgia – Terry College of Business have seen a remarkable increase in the recent U.S. News & World Report ranking of graduate business schools, thanks to incredible growth in the employment rate for Terry graduates.

Both the Terry full-time and part-time MBA programs witnessed a rise in the new ranking. The Professional MBA at Terry moved up one spot to 33rd in the U.S. News‘ ranking of part-time MBA programs. The full-time MBA at Terry jumped an impressive seven spots into the 48th best program overall and 24th among just public institutions.

In addition to the MBA programs, Terry’s concentration in Information Systems saw a rise in ranking, jumping three spots to 16th overall.

Much of the growth in Terry’s programs is a result of an improvement in job placement rates for Terry graduates, which factors significantly into the determination of rank. In the most recent data, a record 93 percent of Terry MBA graduates were employed within three months of graduation. An increase in the college peer assessment score, which is determined by MBA program directors and business school deans, also helped the programs’ rise in the ranking.

The U.S. News full-time MBA ranking was compiled based on surveys of 471 MBA programs, all accredited by AACSB International. Other factors which helped determine the ranking included placement success and student selectivity. For the part-time MBA program, other factors like standardized test scores, undergraduate point average, and years of work experience were also considered.

The full ranking is available in the 2018 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools guidebook, which was released in March of 2017.
