Inside the Foster Technology Management MBA Program: Student Interviews

Foster Master of Science in Taxation

What’s it like to be a Technology Management MBA (TMMBA) student at the Foster School of Business? The 18-month program is work-compatible MBA that’s geared for technology leaders. It’s an accelerated program that was designed to include lively discussions, study groups, networking events and a rich business curriculum. Recently, Foster pulled together a few TMMBA students to talk about their experience.

In the interview, the students spoke about their favorite classes, the TMMBA network, the events and the program itself.

Jennifer An

“The class that has been the most valuable to me so far has been Corporate Finance,” said An. “The professor was phenomenal.” An also talked about the rich classroom setting and how students discuss real-time business issues over the course of the curriculum.

Scott Yeung

For Yeung, he really loved the Competitive Strategy course because it got him to think about how he can make better decisions. However, it’s not just about the curriculum. Yeung went on to say that there are so many other successful people in the program that they help you to open your mind and gain new knowledge and experiences.

Jenna Larson

“I’m still in the middle of realizing all of the potential [of the TMMBA network],” Larson said. “Our class is made up of over 30 different organizations.” Larson continued talking about the TMMBA opportunities including the Career Treks, where students go out and visit other organizations for a few hours, to learn how they operate. “It’s been a really cool experience to get to visit other organizations,” she said.

Arpana Deshpande

“The study groups are one of the best parts of the TMMBA program,” said Deshpande, continuing on to say that the groups give you a safe and non-judgmental environment to hone your leadership and communication skills. “The different perspectives and opinions that your teammates bring to the table link to some very intellectually stimulating debates and discussions.” Deshpande finished by saying that there is so much to learn from her classmates diverse backgrounds and experiences.
