CAU Teaches Business Essentials to Youth at Summer Camp

sustainability

The skills you learn in an MBA program aren’t usually on the curriculum for a high school or middle school student. Rarely do they have an opportunity to learn how to make a business plan or how businesses generate profits. The School of Business Administration at Clark Atlanta University, however, believes young children can and should learn these business fundamentals. To that end, CAU offers the Junior MBA Summer Camp.

Starting on June 8, CAU will welcome middle and high school students to the Jr. MBA Summer Camp. The camp will take place on the Clark Atlanta University campus in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Lynne Patten, an associate professor at CAU is the camp director. Registration for the camp has filled up and is now closed. If you’re still interested, you can add your name to a waiting list.

According to the camp’s website “The Jr. MBA Summer Camp is focused on introducing basic business concepts to the campers. They will learn about business and entrepreneurship through lectures, simulations, working with business students, and developing a business plan. In addition, campers get to work in groups and take a field trip.”

The campers will learn about a variety of different basic business concepts. According the their website, this includes the following:

– Business School Basics

– Different Areas/Majors in Business

– Business & Entrepreneurship

– Investments & Stock Market

– Personal Finance

– Writing Business Plans
