Joint MBA/MHA at Robinson Recognized for Excellence

The joint MBA/Master of Health Administration (MBA/M.H.A) at the Georgia State University – J. Mack Robinson College of Business has recently been recognized for its excellence in healthcare education.

The program, which is offered by the Institute of Health Administration at Robinson, was honored with an Award for Excellence in Healthcare Management Systems Education from CAHME (the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education) and Cerner, a company specializing in health information technology. The award is meant to honor the program’s excellence in educating students in the field of management and technology in healthcare. It will be officially presented March 26th in Chicago.

The dual degree program is accredited by the CAHME and aims to prepare future executives for healthcare leadership roles. The program helps students to understand such areas as policy formulation, strategic management, and market forces, based around a 20-point competency model that spans leadership and professional experience, as well as healthcare and business knowledge.

“It is hugely gratifying to receive the CAHME/Cerner Award for our MBA/M.H.A. program,” said Richard D. Phillips, Robinson Dean. “It is a testament to the relevance of the curriculum developed by the faculty in our Institute of Health Administration in close partnership with the members of the institute’s advisory board.”

Graduates of the dual degree program hold leadership roles across Georgia and the throughout the country, working in all types of settings, ranging from hospital systems to governmental agencies, informational technology companies, insurers, medical device companies and more. The M.H.A program at Robinson is ranked among the 10 largest in the country by Modern Healthcare.
