New Restaurant Tip Calculator App Launched by Carey Business School MBA Candidate

Full Society is the future of the restaurant going experience. The app — which is headed by Carey Business School MBA candidate Paige Cantlin — allows diners to instantly pay, split and tip directly from their web capable mobile phones. And the cherry on top? At the end of payment, users are encouraged to donate to a local nonprofit that works to solve hunger.

According to an article on The Hub, Cantlin recently launched a beta version of the app to select restaurants in Baltimore with more to follow. One restaurant, Woodberry Kitchen, is also  stakeholder in the company. Continue reading…

Team of Smith School MBAs Win Consulting Competition

The Smith MBA Consulting Club recently hosted the final round of the fourth annual Cognizant Business Consulting Case Competition, which challenged competing teams of students to solve a health care, insurance or IT issue by creating a competitive advantage via “Code Halos.” According to a press release on the Smith School website, a team made up of four MBA students from the Robert H. Smith School of Business developed a health care management solution to win the top prize. Continue reading…

Quinlan MBA Honored with Diversity MBA’s Graduate Student Leadership Award

Travis Cornejo, a student reporter at the Loyola University Chicago, has reported that Diversity MBA Magazine has named Quinlan School of Business MBA Marvin Mathelier the recipient of the publication’s Graduate Student Leadership Award.

A veteran of the War in Afghanistan, Mathelier became a recruiter in Chicago upon returning home. He says that it was during his time as a recruiter that he decided to pursue his master’s degree. He decided to apply for business school and found that Quinlan was the right fit for him. Continue reading…

Lake Forest Announces President’s Scholars Program

The Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM) has announced the start of the President’s Scholars Program — a nomination-based scholarship and mentorship program offered to incoming MBA students beginning in the 2016 Winter 1 term and again in the 2016 Fall term.

This is a scholarship opportunity designed for prospective MBAs who have already established an extensive portfolio in the professional world. Ten candidates will be selected each year through a nomination process to participate in the program. They will each receive $10,000 in tuition credit to be applied over the first two years of study at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Continue reading…

REGISTER: NFL’s Michelle McKenna-Doyle Set to Give Lecture at Sellinger This Thursday

Michelle R. McKenna-Doyle, senior vice president and chief information officer of the National Football League, will be speaking at the Sellinger School of Business and Management on on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015. The lecture will take place in McGuire Hall on Loyola’s Evergreen Campus at 6:30PM.

McKenna-Doyle oversees the NFL’s technology strategy, shared service delivery, and management of the league’s corporate and football technology. She also serves as executive sponsor of the league’s Women’s Interactive Network (WIN) and as a member of the diversity council. She was named a 2014 “Game Changer” by Sports Business Journal.
