UD Hosts Entrepreneurs for “Free Lunch Friday”

The University of Delaware’s Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club) and the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship have announced which entrepreneurs will be part of their Free Lunch Friday speaker series for the month of November. Every Friday, the E-Club hosts an entrepreneur who gives a fifteen to twenty minute presentation about different facets of entrepreneurship. The talk is followed by a thirty minute question and answer session where members of the audience can interact with the entrepreneur. This month’s series will feature some prominent local entrepreneurs from businesses that are hallmarks of the Newark scene.

The series is free and open to the public, but if you want to go you should get there early because seats for the event are first come, first served. Each lunch officially begins at 12:15 PM. Food and refreshments will be provided for attendees at no cost.

On November 1, Leigh Ann Tona joined the entrepreneurship club as the first November speaker. She is the founder and owner of the popular “I Don’t Give a Fork” food truck, and she is also a UD alumnae.

On November 8, the lunch will take place at the Perkins Student Center Gallery. Zach Phillips, the founder and director of The Kitchen, will speak. The owner of Klondike Kate’s and Independnt Transfer Operations, Bruce Georgov, will speak on November 22.

November 15 is a special event for the E-Club and the Horn Program. In lieu of the traditional speaker series for Friday Lunch, the groups will host a pitch competition called “Pitch Party”, an elimination-based competition with a prize of $1,000 for the winner. Only University of Delaware students may enter the competition.
