MBA Alum Profile: Mac Clemmens, UC Davis

Mac Clemmens probably didn’t know what he was getting into when he started Digital Deployment at the ripe old age of 20. In recent years, The UC Davis Graduate School of Management MBA has seen his company become a multimillion-dollar business that has helped clients like Google—which hired them to build a website for its Smithsonian exhibit—the California Bankers Association, CalSTRS, the United Way and the Graduate School of Management create “a different type of website.”

Clemmens recently had a Q&A session with the Sacramento Business Journal where he offered some insight into what its like to be one of Northern California’s most promising young CEOS under 40. Here are a few excerpts from that session. You can read the entire article here.

B.S. in computer science, California State University Monterey; MBA, University of California Davis

What’s been your most important professional accomplishment?

Starting Digital Deployment, being selected for and then getting to build Google’s website-powered exhibit for the Smithsonian, and being recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Sacramento

What’s been your greatest civic achievement?

Bringing Reason to Party to Sacramento and helping to raise more than $100,000 for charity by engaging a new generation in philanthropy

Clemmens has also told his alma mater in an interview that getting his MBA was what got him “out of the cubicle and provided a foundation that helped me beyond what I learned in my computer science degree.”
