Davis to Hold Business Professional Networking Lunch

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management will be hosting its next Business Professional Networking Group Lunch on October 16, 2014. This Luncheon will feature UC Davis Professor Don Palmer. Palmer will be discussing his most recent published work, “Normal Organizational Wrongdoing.”

The Business Professionals Networking Group (BPNG) is an alumni affiliate group open to Graduate School of Management alumni, business partners and students. BPNG is a relationship-building platform where members can network for any reason: to learn new business strategies and skills; build alliances; and share referrals, successes, ideas, experiences and goals.

Professor Don Palmer received his PH.D. from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He teaches Organizational Behavior and specializes in organizational behavior, role of power and politics in corporate decision-making, and causes of organizational wrongdoing.

The Professor has been a part of studies in the area of corporate crime, ethics and social responsibility. His research examines why otherwise law-abiding, ethical and socially responsible people participate in wrongful courses of behavior; in particular, why such individuals join wrongful courses of action that are initiated by others.

Palmer’s book answers the question why employees, managers and senior officials engage in illegal, unethical and socially irresponsible behavior. He also offers policy suggestions for the reduction of wrongdoing.

The event will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Sutter Club in Sacramento. RSVP online by October 15, 2014. The cost of the program is $40 with a $3.19 processing fee.
