Davis Holds MBA Class Visit

The next MBA class visit for the UC Davis School of Management will be held Jan. 14, 2015. Prospective students will attend the class Organizational Strategy and Structure. The class will be held from 12:10 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Gallagher Hall on the UC Davis campus.

The course that prospective students will be attending will cover strategic management of organizations, including analysis of industries, firm resources and capabilities and corporate strategy. The course focuses on strategy formulation, implementation and strategic decision-making, firm and industry life cycles and change, analysis of organizational design and structure including differentiation and integration.

Gina Dokko, assistant professor of management, will teach the course. Dokko’s research focuses on organizational theory and behavior, social networks, and technology and innovation. Recently she’s been examining the consequences of job mobility, especially in light of today’s high unemployment rates. She holds a PHD from The Wharton School and has previously taught at NYU Stern School of Business.

The Full-Time MBA Program at Davis is a 72 unit program completed over 21-months. The program’s core courses build a foundation of basic knowledge and skills necessary for success in business management. After completing the core courses, students then complete elective courses, which emphasize real-world application of management skills.

Students in the Full-Time MBA program at Davis have the option to pursue a concentration in business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance/accounting, general management, marketing, organizational behavior, strategy or technology management. Students complete these concentrations by completing a series of electives that focus on one specific area of study.
