Haub Names Director of Initiative for Family Business and Entrepreneurship

St. Joseph’s University has named  Meghan Juday the director of The Haub School of Business Initiative for Family Business and Entrepreneurship. The initiative was founded in 2012. It provides a program that is designed around the unique challenges and skills required to operate a family business and pursue entrepreneurial endeavors.

Judy is a fourth generation member of the 99-year-old family-owned business,  IDEAL INDUSTRIES in Sycamore, Ill. She serves as the family council chair and corporate director of IDEAL INDUSTRIES and is also the founder of Family Business Strategy Group (FBSG), an independent consulting firm. She also serves as a member of a curriculum committee for the Loyola Family Business Center’s Stewardship and Governance Institutes in Chicago.

Before moving to her position of family council chair and corporate director of IDEAL, Juday worked as a business analyst, project manager and consultant. In her role as family council chair at IDEAL, she works to align family needs and corporate strategies in the areas of governance, business and finance, development and education, family and philanthropy.

She works closely with the CEO to ensure a focus on the family’s goals and helps provide leadership training, education about growth opportunities, and conflict management for members of the family. Juday earned a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s College and a certificate in family business stewardship from Loyola Family Business Stewardship Institute.

The Initiative for Family Business and Entrepreneurship aims to build a community of family businesses and entrepreneurs who are committed to continuous improvement via education, benchmarking and the implementation of new strategies for long-term economic growth; create a world-class academic experience for undergraduate students; and develop a research program that continually renews our understanding of the needs for entrepreneurial and family enterprising success.
