Experts on Federal Policy and Real Estate Trends to Speak at Wharton

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania will offer a seminar for business journalists on March 3, 2016 at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, at the firm’s New York City office.

The program is free and will be conducted by Professors Peter Conti-Brown, who will discuss federal policy, and Dr. Sam Chandan, who will discuss real estate trends. Professor Conti-Brown teaches legal studies and business ethics at Wharton, and Professor Chandan is an adjunct associate professor of real estate.

Conti-Brown is author of the forthcoming book, The Power and Independence of the Federal Reserve which is an exploration of the history and position of the nation’s central bank. He also co-edited the book When States Go Broke: The Origins, Context, and Solutions for the American States in Fiscal Crisis. He has testified before the US Senate Banking Committee with regard to reforming the Federal Reserve.

Sam Chandan is founder and chief economist at Chandan Economics, a provider of data and analytics to investors, policymakers, and commercial real estate lenders. Dr. Chandan’s research focuses on the structure and regulation of apartment housing finance, commercial real estate capital markets, and the credit structure of commercial and residential mortgages. He is co-host of the Real Estate Hour on Sirius XM Radio, and is a columnist for the New York Observer and Globe Street. Chandan has served in advisory and board member capacities at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Real Estate Research Institute, and the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council.
