LaSalle University Unveils New Landmark Business School Building

Landmark Business school building

LaSalle University’s Business School proudly unveiled its new landmark business school building in January 2016 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The $35 million, 87,000 square foot facility began construction in September 2014, and is considered to be one of the most significant projects in the University’s history.

The building was funded with a combination of a $20 million investment on the part of the school and a $13.2 million fundraising effort to which faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends contributed. University President Colleen Hanycz said:

“This [project] is a testament to our faith and commitment to the future of our students’ successes, both in their careers and in contributing to the common good, and to justice.  It supports the Lasallian tradition of learning that is rigorous, experiential, ethical and inclusive.”

The building contains customizable classrooms, conference rooms, breakout meeting spaces, and an innovative Sales Lab that mimics a real world office environment. A café will soon be open on the building’s ground floor. A unique aspect of the building is the interspersing of faculty offices among classrooms, allowing students easy access to instruction from professors. The marketing, accounting, finance, and international business departments are all located within the building, which will facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration. The building also houses the University’s Career Services Center.

Stephen T. Zarrilli, ’83, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, remarked:

“It’s exciting to see all the technology and other amenities—the open spaces, simulation labs, and breakout rooms—that will foster an environment of collaborative learning, academic innovation, globalization, and teamwork required to succeed in today’s business world, as well as make significant positive impact in our communities.”

The building was designed by Kimmel Bogrette Architects, of Conshohocken, PA.
