Ah, Philadelphia: birthplace of independence, brotherly love, and the cheesesteak. Philly is also home to plenty of noteworthy companies and internship opportunities for MBA students across the region and country. According to Glassdoor.com, Philly made the list of top 20 cities in the country for internship openings.

Along with having top schools like UPenn’s Wharton School of Business and Temple University’s Fox School of Business within the city limits, Philadelphia also has plenty of resources for those looking seeking top internship opportunities.

Internship Resources in Philadelphia

PhillyVoice, a local news website, profiled Campus Philly, a 10-year-old nonprofit that was created to build connections between Philadelphia’s college students and the greater city. Campus Philly accepts free listings from any company in the region on its internship matching platform, has a corporate membership program, and works in partnership with 31 colleges and universities to help local students gain internships and employment

“Other cities are known by their dominant industries, like D.C. for policy or New York for finance. Philadelphia is a little harder for college students to understand in that way, so we run a number of events each year that focus on a specific industry to educate students about that industry and the opportunities available,” Deborah Diamond, president of Campus Philly, told PhillyVoice. “The challenge with the Philadelphia job market is that it’s strong in many areas, but not necessarily with a signature industry that draws students to look a little deeper.”

Some of the corporations Campus Philly has partnered with include Deloitte, Comcast and Vanguard. Diamond told PhillyVoice, “Very high percentages [of students] are offered positions in those companies.”

Here’s a list of some of our favorite Philly companies with internship opportunities.
