Rady School Continues Its AACSB Accreditation

Rady School Continues AACSB Accreditation

Since being one of the youngest business schools to receive the AACSB accreditation in 2011, the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego has continued its commitment to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship. Thanks to that commitment, the Rady School earned an extension of its accreditation after a meticulous internal review and evaluation process.

Earning an accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is prestigious. In fact, less than 5 percent of business schools worldwide have earned the international accreditation, which is awarded in five-year cycles and includes peer reviews and self-assessment.

“AACSB commends each institution for their exemplary work,” Robert D. Reid, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB International, said in a blog post. “During this peer-review process schools must demonstrate alignment with AACSB’s global accreditation standards, as well as how they encourage engagement, innovation and impact across the communities they serve.”

To receive its re-accreditation, the Rady School had to go through a continuous improvement review with standards that required excellence in multiple areas including strategic management, innovation, learning and teaching, and academic and professional engagement. To achieve this, Rady identified specific learning goals and objectives that corresponded to the School’s mission and then broke down those goals even further to determine the necessary skills and knowledge required for success.

“By once again meeting the rigorous standards for accreditation outlined by the AACSB, the Rady School has earned its place among the most elite business schools in the world,” said Rady School Dean Robert S. Sullivan. “The accreditation is a recognition of the extraordinary quality of our faculty and academic programs as well the commitment from the community to support the school and its mission.”
