UC Davis Wins 18 Awards, 3 at Graduate School of Management

UC Davis recently won 18 awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for their work in marketing and communications, alumni relations, and development, according to a press release from the school. Their Graduate School of Management won three of the awards given out by the organization. The awards come from CASE’s Disctrict VII, which consists of California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The school was awarded Silver for Innovator Online Magazine, coming off a mobile-focused redesign. Innovator is a biannual publication from the Graduate School of Management that features groundbreaking faculty research, alumni movers and shakers, and stories of entrepreneurship.

The school received another Silver award for their Class Gift Campaign. The program, which impresses the importance of giving back on its graduate students, is led by Mary Maffly, director of Development and Alumni Relations. They raised $33,000 in the 2013-2014 year. The money raised by the program goes to one of three endowment funds, depending on which program the person who is donating graduated from. Interest gained from these funds is available to the Dean for use on new initiatives and emerging opportunities.

The school received Bronze for their MBA student recruitment brochures. These brochures played a large role in communicating the school’s strengths and raising the Graduate School of Management’s profile.

Shaun Keister, vice chancellor of Development and Alumni relations, viewed the awards as proof of UC Davis’ success, calling it a “major milestone for UC Davis,” and quoted representatives from other universities saying that “UC Davis is a force to be reckoned with,” in a press release from the school.
