Accelerated MBA

Texas Christian Accelerated MBA Program Structure

The Texas Christian University Accelerated MBA program at the Neeley School of Business is a 12-month, full-time program that is designed for individuals with a high undergraduate GPA in a business-oriented major, a high GMAT score, and at least three years of professional business experience. The accelerated MBA program is designed to build on the professional and academic experiences of the students. Summer courses are offered online with several in-person sessions held on Saturdays.

Curriculum

The Texas Christian Accelerated MBA curriculum is comprised of 22.5 credits of electives and 12.5 credit hours of core classes, for a total of 36 credit hours to complete the program. The MBA core courses are individually selected for each student based on their professional and academic background in cooperation with the Director of Graduate Programs Administration.

Students can select electives to focus their MBA program in finance, supply chain, marketing or management, or on industries such as energy, healthcare, real estate, entrepreneurship, or consulting.

Class Profile

Students in the Accelerated MBA program at Neeley come from a business academic background and have at least three years of work or military experience. Students have an average of five years of professional business experience. Students in the MBA program at Neeley have an average GMAT score of 627. Students are an average age of 27. Twenty-one percent of the full-time MBA class is female. Twenty-six percent of students in the full-time MBA program completed their undergraduate degrees at Texas Universities other than TCU.

Careers

The Texas Christian Accelerated MBA program is designed for current business field professionals who are interested in moving into managerial or supervisory roles or moving into a new, closely related career field.

Accelerated MBA students also have access to The Neeley Professional Development Center and the Graduate Career Services Center. The Professional Development Center provides Neeley students with support and training in the areas of presentations, business writing and career preparation. Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The total estimated cost of the Accelerated MBA program is $72,360. The actual total cost of expenses for the program will depend on the number of credit hours taken each year. Books and materials are estimated at $2,200, and students will need to have a laptop computer. Neeley offers multiple scholarship and assistantship program options for students. Merit-based awards are available to qualified full-time MBA students from any country. About 85 percent of MBA students receive some form of merit-based scholarship. Award amounts can range from $5,000 up to the total cost of tuition plus a stipend. Student loans and grants are also available to students with demonstrated financial need.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the information provided in an individual’s admission application, with such factors as test scores, academic experience and work experience being taken into consideration.

Neeley also offers full tuition ROTC scholarships. The TCU Army ROTC provides two-year full tuition scholarships for students who are interested in serving in the National Guard or Reserves after completing the program. Prior military experience is not required for these awards.

The Neeley School also provides aid for military veterans. The school will waive the $100 application fee for all military personnel and will also give them priority consideration for the merit-based awards.

The school also welcomes outside scholarships, private and federal loans and other sources of private funding.

Admissions

Texas Christian Accelerated MBA students are required to have a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree or equivalent with a strong academic record, strong GMAT scores and a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional work or military experience.

In order to be considered for admission to the Neeley School, applicants must complete the online application form, submit the application essays (found online with the application form), provide official GMAT scores (GMAT scores are required for admission; GRE scores will be considered on an exceptional basis), upload a copy of all transcripts to the application form, provide a copy of their professional resume and provide contact information for three professional references.

After initial review of the application materials, students will be invited to complete an admissions interview. The interview is required for admission but not all applicants will be invited to complete an interview.

The early decision for admission deadline is October 15. This is also the scholarship priority deadline. The general admission and priority scholarship deadline is January 5. The general admission and extended scholarship deadline and the final deadline for international candidates requesting student visas is March 1. The extended admission and scholarship deadline is April 5. Any application submitted after April 5 will be considered only if space in the program is available.

Full-Time MBA

Texas Christian Full-Time MBA Program Structure

The Texas Christian University full-time MBA program at the Neeley School of Business is a traditional two-year program, which requires students to complete a total of 54 credits to graduate. Students also complete an approved concentration with their elective credit hours.

Curriculum

Texas Christian full-time MBA students complete a mix of core and elective courses to complete the required 54 credits. Core courses provide students with a solid foundation of business and management knowledge that is needed to become a successful business leader. The elective courses give students the opportunity to become specialized in one of the following areas of study: accounting, finance, marketing and supply and value chain management.

In addition to the concentrations, students may choose to specialize in a specific industry by adding an industry emphasis. The industry emphasis option includes 6-9 hours of elective courses that are focused on a specific industry. Industry emphasis options include, energy, healthcare, real estate, consulting and entrepreneurship.

Students complete an Integrative Project at the end of their first semester. This gives them the chance to work in a team and come up with a solution to a business problem similar to one they may encounter in the real working world. Students will give their presentation to a group made up of their professors as well as business executives.

Students also have the opportunity to complete a study abroad option. Students have the option to complete the International Experience, which is a 10 to 14 day trip that counts as a three-semester hour elective. These trips are offered between regular semesters in winter, May and August. The other option is a semester abroad opportunity. Students who choose this study abroad option will spend the fall semester of their second year taking elective courses at one of TCU’s partner universities in France or Chile.

The approximately 60 students in the most recent Neeley full-time MBA Class have an average GMAT score of 615. On average, students are 28-years old and have five years of work experience. The Texas Christian full-time MBA program is designed for professionals who may not necessarily have a background in business, but are interested in changing careers or transitioning into a new field where business and management knowledge would be necessary.

Neeley offers multiple scholarship and assistantship program options for students. Merit-based awards are available to qualified full-time MBA students from any country. About 85 percent of full-time MBA students receive merit-based scholarships of some sort. Online MBA

Baylor University Online MBA Program Structure

The Baylor University Online MBA at the Hankamer School of Business is a new program at Baylor. It is an accelerated program that students can usually complete in 12 to 16 months. In other words, students complete 2 courses or 48 credit hours for the program. Each course is worth four credit hours and is completed in seven weeks. Students can complete the program part-time or full-time, depending on the number of courses taken per semester and the student’s schedule.

 

Curriculum

A majority of Baylor online MBA students study business statistics, ethical leadership, manufacturing and service operations, strategic management, marketing or strategic communications. Before they begin the online MBA curriculum, participants are encouraged to complete the business foundation courses provided. These courses cover the foundations of statistics, accounting, economics, finance, and business law, for instance.

 

Baylor Online MBA Class Profile

The average age of an online Baylor MBA student is 34. Students in the online program tend to have more work experience than those in the campus-based program, with most students having at least 11-12 years of experience. Sixty percent of the most recent class identifies as male; meanwhile, thirty-five percent of the class is an underrepresented minority. The program’s scheduling options and accelerated format offer professionals the flexibility of completing their MBA without taking a leave of absence from work. 

 

Career Statistics

After graduating with a Baylor University Online MBA, alumni start with an average salary of $93,982.

 

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

Ultimately, the cost of the Baylor online MBA is $60,624 for students who don’t have an AACSB-accredited bachelor’s degree in business. It costs roughly $51,264 for those who do have the degree. Students will pay a one-time $50 application fee and a $100 administration fee per term.

Baylor awards Dean’s Scholarships to outstanding applicants each term based on an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above. Dean’s Scholars receive $500 tuition credit per course.

Some students may also be eligible for International Fellows Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to applicants each entering term based on the student’s achievement in undergraduate studies. Eligible students have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25; and they will have at least four years of international managerial experience or US-based management of an international market sector.

Therefore, applicants must provide proof of qualifying international experience to be approved for this scholarship.

The Baylor MBA program reserves Military Scholarships for students who have served in the military, including both active duty and veterans. Students with military scholarships receive $500 tuition credit per course.

 

Admissions at Baylor University

Those applying to the Baylor University online MBA program must have results from either the GMAT or GRE. Students with at least four years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience may be granted GMAT/GRE waivers. There is no minimum GMAT or GRE score requirement. There is no professional work experience requirement for the online MBA program, though most students have at least six years of experience.

In addition, applicants must complete three essays as part of the admissions process. These essays are 200 to 500 words that will give applicants the opportunity to share their qualifications, experiences, and reasons for applying to the online MBA program.

Furthermore, they should provide a current resume that includes professional work experience, accomplishments and skills acquired, including managerial experience.

In conclusion, applicants are required to include personal information before submitting. They should provide contact information for two professional references, transcripts from all degree granting institutions (Baylor alumni do not have to submit transcripts), and TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic scores (for international applicants). Applicants must also pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (veterans and current military will not need to pay the application fee).

Support for LGBTQ Community Grows on MBA Campuses

Since the release of the cover of the July issue of Vanity Fair Magazine, the world has been erupting with news about Caitlyn Jenner. According to TIME, there were more than 10 million Google searches for “Caitlyn Jenner” from May 29 to June 5. Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce, has become the most well-known transgender woman. According to the official Google blog, “Her high-profile transition has put Jenner at the center of an active national dialogue about transgender equality and rights.”

In a preview of the VF story “Call Me Caitlyn,” the magazine reveals some of the conversations that contributing editor Buzz Bissinger had with Jenner over the course of her transition. The two discuss her upcoming eight-part documentary series on the E! network, “I am Cait.” Jenner comments that she is prepared for criticism about creating a show that could be perceived as a publicity stunt. “You don’t go out and change your gender for a television show. O.K., it ain’t happening. I don’t care who you are,” Jenner told Vanity Fair. “I’m doing it to help my soul and help other people.” The E! documentary series will focus on the issues that the transgender community faces.

Executive MBA

Baylor University Executive MBA Program Structure

The Baylor University Executive MBA degree at the Hankamer School of Business is held in either Austin or Dallas. The Executive MBA program is a 21-month program that begins in August and will be completed over five semesters. Classes for the Dallas EMBA program are held Friday afternoons from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Classes for the Austin EMBA are held Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m. Dinner is provided for students during class days.

Both the Dallas and Austin EMBA programs offer the EMBA and the EMBA with Healthcare Specialization. The EMBA program consists of 48 credit hours. The Healthcare Specialization requires 50 credit hours. Courses for the program are taught in a cohort lock-step structure.

Curriculum

Students at both campuses in both the Baylor University Executive MBA and Executive MBA Healthcare Specialization complete the same week-long In-Residence program in Waco to start the program and a second In-Residence program, which is a five-day program held in Washington, DC during the second semester. During the last semester, all students also complete a 10-day international trip.

The Baylor University Executive MBA curriculum focuses on expanding students’ leadership skills. The program curriculum covers decision making, human resource management and global strategic management, as well as contemporary business issues. The EMBA Healthcare curriculum provides students with the necessary knowledge to lead and make executive decisions within the healthcare sector.

Class Profile

About 30 percent of students in the EMBA Dallas program at the Hankamer School of Business are women, with 70 percent male students. Among the class, 40 percent are of U.S. minority status and 70 percent are married. The average amount of work experience is 12 years.

Students in the EMBA Austin program are an average age of 35 with an average of 12 years of professional work experience including at least six years of managerial experience. More than 60 percent of students have an undergraduate degree in business, 31 percent are women and 39 percent are minorities.

Careers

EMBA students are all mid-level executives and come from a variety of industries. Executives come from companies such as Apple Inc., AT&T, Xerox, Wells Fargo, St. Jude Medical Inc., Microsoft, Coca-Cola North America, Wal-Mart, American Airlines and various government offices. The Baylor EMBA program also offers students a variety of ways to network with current students and alumni.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The tuition for the Baylor University Executive MBA in Dallas is $88,000 and $17,600 per semester. The EMBA in Healthcare is the same price. Students are also required to pay a $2,000 non-refundable seat deposit. The EMBA in Austin is slightly less, at $86,000 tuition.

Half of the EMBA students at Hankamer receive full or partial sponsorship from their employers. There are also a variety of federal and private student loans available for students in the Executive MBA program. Baylor does not provide any scholarships for EMBA students but does accept tuition awards from outside scholarships. Veterans may be eligible for financial support with the Executive MBA programs at Baylor.

Admissions

The GMAT or GRE is not required for students applying to the Baylor Executive MBA program. Students are required to have at least five years of professional work experience for this program (five years experience in the healthcare industry is required for all students in the Healthcare Specialization).

To complete the online application for the Baylor Executive MBA program, applicants must first create an online GoBAYLOR Grad account. After completing the account and applicant profile, prospective students can complete the application process.

Students must provide a résumé that includes their work experience and career progression to date, their range of job responsibilities including managerial, supervisory and budgetary experience, their educational background and any activities honors, or awards they have received that would be of interest to the Admissions Committee.

Applicants must also provide the name, title and email address of three references.

Applicants are also required to answer three essay questions (found online). Essays give applicants a chance to provide insight into their motivations for applying and their career aspirations, as well as serving as writing sample for the Admissions Committee to gauge writing proficiency.

Global Leadership Executive MBA

UT Dallas Global Leadership Executive MBA Program Structure

The UT Dallas Global Leadership Executive MBA program at the Naveen Jindal School of Management is a 21-month program, conducted 100 percent online. The remainder of the semester is taught through web conferences, discussions boards, downloadable videos and interactive study group meetings and five class retreats.

Curriculum

The UT Dallas Global Leadership Executive MBA curriculum is designed for managers who desire to learn how to enter a new geographic market, operate in new markets, and lead globally. The curriculum is made up of 29 core courses and 24 required program courses for a total of 53 credits.

Students spend the first two semesters learning U.S. business fundamentals. Beginning in the third semester, students will begin the global track.

Global Leadership Executive MBA students learn the competitive advantages of four regional markets. The fourth semester will help students to learn how to enter those regional markets. During the fifth semester, students will learn how to lead and execute in those regional markets. The program includes five retreats held on campus, and a ten-day international study tour. Students complete one retreat off campus, the international retreat, which will focus on international academics. During this retreat, students will have the opportunity to meet and study with other Executive MBA students.

The International Study tour is a 10 day event that will give students the opportunity to meet with business and government executives and educators to get a better understanding of the dynamic global business environment and culture of two different regions.

Global Leadership Executive MBA students also work one on one with an executive coach to develop necessary career development skills. such as strategic self-awareness, executive presence, social intelligence, political intelligence and social networking.

The average age of students in the Global Leadership Executive MBA program is 39, with the average amount of work experience being 15 years. Forty-four percent of the students are female. Thirty-one percent of students are from a country outside of the U.S.

The UT Dallas Global Leadership Executive MBA program is designed for current executives who are looking to advance their career and expand their businesses into new global markets.

Global Leadership Executive MBA students have access to the Career Management Center at the Jindal School of Management. The Career Management Center offers students various tools to develop a career management strategy.

Students also participate in Executive Coaching, which will provide them with an executive coach who will help to design goals for individual students’ career advancement.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The total investment for the UT Dallas Global Leadership Executive MBA for the spring 2020 intake is $53,000. Tuition is paid in five installments.

The Global Leadership Executive MBA program is covered entirely by participant fees and employer funding.

Admissions

They will need to submit transcripts, a professional resume, a personal essay, employer agreement, and three recommendations letters.

Applicants for this program are not required to take the GMAT or GRE tests.

Full-Time MBA

Baylor University Full-Time MBA Program Structure

The Baylor University full-time MBA program at the Hankamer School of Business is a 53 credit hour full-time program that can be completed in as few as 16 or as many as 21 months. The time it will take to complete the degree depends on a student’s undergraduate background. Students who do not have an undergraduate degree in business are required to complete two Business Foundations classes. These Business Foundations classes will provide students with the necessary knowledge to successfully complete the MBA core curriculum. Students who need to complete the foundation courses can begin in the summer or in the fall.

Curriculum

Students in the Baylor University full-time MBA program complete 35 credit hours of core classes, 15 credit hours of electives and a three credit hour internship, for a total of 53 credits. Students have the option to concentrate their MBA degree in a specific field by completing nine credit hours of elective courses in finance, information systems, international business or marketing.

Students can also customize their degree by completing a specialization in healthcare or entrepreneurship. The healthcare specialization is part of the Robbins Institute for Health Policy and Leadership. Students complete the MBA core courses in addition to the Health Care specialization courses and elective courses. Hankamer MBA Students are also required to complete a seven-month paid residency (June to December) in a leading healthcare institution. Students in the healthcare specialization who need to complete the Business Foundations courses will graduate in 24 months instead of the usual 21 months, because of the residency requirement.

The entrepreneurship specialization offers students two sequences along with the specialization. Students can complete their entrepreneurship specialization in New Venture Creation or in Corporate Entrepreneurship. The New Venture Creation sequence is designed to prepare students to start, develop, finance and manage new ventures with high growth potential while the Corporate Entrepreneurship focuses on expanding existing ventures. Students in the Entrepreneurship specialization also compete in the New Venture Business Plan Competition and make weekly visits to G-51 Capital Management, LLC, in Austin to get hands-on experience with investing.

The school also offers tuition scholarships ranging from 25 to 100 percent of the tuition costs. To be considered for financial awards, applicants must simply indicate on the admission form that they would like to be evaluated for a scholarship.

Several Graduate Assistant (GA) positions for MBA students are also available to help cover the cost of tuition. GAs work an average of 10 hours per week for a faculty or staff member in the business school.

Many other forms of financial aid are also available to Baylor full-time MBA students. Students can apply for federal financial aid, federal loans, private loans, state and federal grants and various work-study programs. Admissions

Either the GMAT or GRE is required for application to the full-time MBA program. There is no minimum GMAT or GRE score requirement. There is no professional work experience requirement for the MBA program, but it is strongly recommended for applicants to have prior work experience. Students do not have to have an undergraduate background in business for the MBA program.

To complete the online application for the full-time MBA program, applicants must first create an online GoBAYLOR Grad account. After completing the account and applicant profile, prospective students can complete the application process.
Applicants must complete two essays as part of the admissions process. These essays are 200 to 500 words that will give applicants the opportunity to share their qualifications, experiences and reasons for applying to the MBA program.

Applicants must also provide a current resume describing those activities, honors, or awards that they believe serve as indicators of potential success in the full-time MBA program, contact information for two professional references, transcripts from all degree granting institutions (Baylor alumni do not have to submit transcripts), GMAT or GRE scores and TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic scores (for international applicants). Applicants are also required to pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (veterans and current military are not required to pay the fee).

UT Dallas Executive MBA Program Structure

The UT Dallas Executive MBA program at the Naveen Jindal School of Management is a 21-month cohort program that is completed over five semesters, beginning each year in August. Classes for the program meet four times per month. Students meet all day Friday and Saturday followed by a weekend off. Class days run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks served on campus.

Curriculum

The UT Dallas Executive MBA program curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of business as well as strategy to advance in the marketplace, leadership, corporate assets strategy, and data use and interpretation.

Students in the UT Dallas Executive MBA program follow a 53 credit hour curriculum. The program also includes one class trip and a structured executive coaching program.

Executive Coaching is required in the first four semesters of the Executive MBA program. During their first semester, students will be assigned an executive coach with whom they will create a professional development plan focused in five executive core competencies. Each month, students complete homework assignments designed to help them reach their personal and professional growth goals.

Students in the Executive MBA program will take a 10-day international study tour that gives them the chance to meet professionals in another country. During this trip they will visit two different cities or countries.

Class Profile

The UT Dallas Executive MBA program is designed for business professionals. The average student age is 40 and the average amount of work experience is 16 years, 12 years of management experience. Sixteen percent of the program participants are female and 41 percent come from a country other than the United States.

Careers

The UT Dallas Executive MBA program prepares experienced professionals for careers in upper management.

Executive MBA students have access to the Career Management Center at the Jindal School of Management. The Career Management Center offers students tools to develop a career management strategy.

Students also are required to participate in Executive Coaching, which will provide students with an executive coach who will help to design goals and help with advancing their careers.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid for the UT Dallas Executive MBA

The UT Dallas Executive MBA program is supported entirely by participant fees. Students must pay five equal installments of $18,000 before the start of each semester to cover tuition and program fees, for a total of $90,000.

These costs include course materials, textbooks, cases and access to the web and video conferencing systems, on-campus parking permits, and breakfast, lunch and snacks served on all class days.

The tuition costs also cover the cost of the international trip. However, students must pay for their own airfare. Executive MBA students may apply for student loans. The UT Dallas Financial Aid Office can provide more information. There is also an Executive Education Financial Services Manager, Paula Baxter, who can provide interested individuals with financial information and can be reached by calling 972-883-4114.

Admissions to the UT Dallas Executive MBA

Students applying to the UT Dallas Executive MBA program are required to have at least eight years of professional business experience with international and management experience. They must also have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or better from an accredited institution. Additional requirements include a resume, essay, three recommendations, employer agreement and application fee.

UT Dallas Professional MBA Program Structure

The UT Dallas Professional MBA program at the Naveen Jindal School of Business is offered in three different formats. The options include Evening Cohort, Flex and Online.

The Evening Cohort option can be completed in 24 months. This format allows working professionals to take the 30 required classes together, giving them the opportunity to practice working as a team and giving them networking opportunities. The Flex program lets students finish their degree on their own schedule. They can begin in the fall, spring, or summer. Courses are offered online and on campus, and students can choose where and when they will take their courses, as well as how many courses they will take at a time. The Online MBA operates similarly to the Flex MBA, though not all electives and concentrations can be taken online, limiting some of the options available to fully online students.

The Flex and Online MBA programs allow students to work full-time while completing their MBA, and most of them do. A part-time schedule consists of taking two classes each semester, and classes are usually offered Monday-Friday from 4 to 10 p.m.

Curriculum at the UT Dallas Professional MBA

All formats of the UT Dallas Professional MBA program follow a 53-credit curriculum. All students must complete the 32 credits of core classes and 21 credits of elective courses.

MBA students have the ability to complete a concentration in an area such as accounting, business analytics, energy management, finance, healthcare management, IT management, innovation and entrepreneurship, internal audit, international management, leadership in organizations, marketing, real estate, strategic management, supply chain management or systems engineering and management. Concentrations provide students with a more in-depth knowledge of an area of business management. Students can choose their concentration based on their interests and future career goals. However, online students should note that not all concentrations and electives are available in an online format.

Class Profile

The average age of UT Dallas Professional Evening MBA students is 30. Students typically have 4.5 years of professional work experience. The average GMAT score of students is 600 and students have an average undergraduate GPA of 3.4. Thirty-one percent of the most recent class was female.

Careers

The Professional MBA is designed for working business professionals. The PMBA degree will help to prepare students to advance their careers in business and management. While Full-Time MBA students may receive more individualized attention from the Career Management Center, PMBA students still have access to a variety of resources to help them achieve their career goals. Resources include networking events, mock interviews, industry forums and career coaching.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid for the UT Dallas Professional MBA

Tuition costs for the UT Dallas Professional MBA program at Naveen Jindal depend on the number of courses taken per semester and which track students are enrolled in. UT Dallas has designed their tuition costs to be lower per credit with the more classes that a student takes per semester. The estimated cost for tuition and fees for in-state residents in the Evening PMBA program is $47,842.

The estimated cost for tuition and fees for non-residents and international students is $88,217. Tuition and fees for resident students in the online program are estimated at $55,441, with non-resident tuition at $93,179.

Students participating in online courses must also pay an $80 per semester credit hour distance education fee for each graduate course taken online at JSOM. Resident students enrolled in the Flex option can expect to pay a total of $51,201, while non-residents will pay around $88,939 . These estimated costs do not include costs for materials, housing, transportation, and other fees that students may encounter during their time as a PMBA student.

PMBA students do have access to scholarships, though not as many as full-time students do. The school also accepts third-party scholarships, grants, federal financial aid and veterans’ awards as well as private and government student loans. UT Dallas Full-Time MBA Program Structure

The UT Dallas full-time MBA at the Naveen Jindal School of Management is an 18-month program taught in a cohort structure.

Curriculum

The UT Dallas full-time MBA program is made up of 53 credits. Thirty of those credits are part of the core curriculum and the remaining 23 credits are completed through elective courses. Students also have an option to complete a concentration along with the MBA program or take a 21-month optional extension for a joint degree program.

Core classes are held during the day and elective courses are held during the evening. Students are also required to complete a summer internship for three credit hours between their first and second year of the program.

UT Dallas full-time MBA students are encouraged, but not required, to complete a concentration in accounting, business analytics, energy management, finance, healthcare leadership and management, IT management, innovation and entrepreneurship, internal audit, international management, leadership in organizations, marketing, real estate, strategic management, supply chain management or systems engineering and management. Concentrations provide students with a more in-depth knowledge of an area of business management. Students can choose their concentration based on their interests and future career goals.

There were 50 students in the most recent UT Dallas full-time MBA class. The average GMAT score of students is 675. Students are an average age of 28 with an average of five years of professional work experience. Forty-eight percent of the class is female.

Career Statistics

The UT Dallas full-time MBA placement rate is 90 percent within three months of graduation with starting salaries ranging from $90,000 to $100,000.

Some of the top employers for students in the full-time program for the last three years include Wells Fargo, Texas Instruments and AT&T. Full-time MBA students have access to the various resources within the Career Management Center, as well as career coaches that work with each student individually.

The tuition cost for the UT Dallas Full-Time MBA full-time MBA is $33,215 for in-state residents and $64,524 for out-of-state and international students.

The more courses a student takes per semester, the lower the total cost of tuition. Students taking online courses will pay $80 per semester credit hour distance learning fees in addition to regular semester credit hour fees.

Drucker Professor Awarded AMA Lifetime Achievement Award

The American Marketing Association has awarded Drucker School of Business Professor Bernie Jaworski, the 2015 Vijay Mahajan award. Jaworski serves as the Peter F. Drucker Chair in Management and the Liberal Arts at the Drucker School. The Mahajan Award is given by the AMA‘s Marketing Strategy Special Interest Group. The award honors the professor for his leadership and career impact on marketing strategy research and practice.

The Vijay Mahajan award was created in 2000 by the American Marketing Association Foundation. The award honors the career contributions and advancements in marketing strategy by marketing professor Vijay Mahajan. The award was endowed by Mahajan’s former colleagues, doctoral students, co-authors and friends. The goal of this award is to inspire marketing educators through their work in marketing strategies.

History

The University of Texas at Arlington was first established in 1895 as Arlington College. The university served as a military training school under three different names from 1902 to 1917. The university then became a branch of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (Texas A&M) and was renamed the Grubbs Vocational College in 1917. In 1923, the school was again renamed the North Texas Agricultural College in order to reflect that the school had become a public institution with a liberal arts curriculum and that it was no longer strictly vocational.

By 1949, the school had become the largest state-supported junior college in the Southwest and had transitioned into a comprehensive academic institution. The school was once again renamed to the Arlington State College. In 1959 the school became a four-year institution. The school was then transferred to the University of Texas System in 1965 and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, which oversaw programs in liberal arts, science and business, was separated into three schools, thus creating the School of Business.

In 1967, the Texas State Legislature passed an act that renamed all of the University of Texas system campuses, “The University of Texas at…” giving the university its current name, The University of Texas at Arlington. The School of Business has been accredited by the AACSB since 1969.

Locations

The University of Texas at Arlington is located in downtown Arlington, in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, which is about 30 minutes away from Dallas. Arlington is one of the fastest-growing communities in the nation. It has more than 380,000 residents, making it the seventh largest city in the state. It’s also home to two professional sports teams, the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.

Fort Worth and Tarrant County students also have the opportunity to complete program at the University of Texas at Arlington Fort Worth Center located in the historic Santa Fe Freight Building.

Facilities

The UT Arlington campus spans 420 acres and includes more than 100 buildings, some dating from 1919. Recent campus construction projects totaling almost $300 million have increased campus development in downtown Arlington.

The UT Arlington campus also encompasses the College Park District, which spans more than 20 acres. The $160 million development is the most ambitious project in UT Arlington history, serving as a site where students, neighbors and visitors can enjoy entertainment, sports and restaurants. The development includes a state-of-the-art events center, student housing, a large green space, retail shops and restaurants.

The Fort Worth Center offers students access to its computer lab and library. The state-of-the-art electronic resource library provides students with access to computers, printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines as well as any electronic resources available to UT Arlington students. The Fort Worth Center also provides students with an on-campus convenience store as well as a student break room, exercise room and its own recycling center.

Students at the College of Business also have access to the Career Development Center, which works with current students and alumni to prepare for their careers. Services offered include meeting with students to help them create a career plan, getting them connected with employment opportunities, and helping them to practice various job skills that will help them to land a job and succeed in that job.

Faculty

There are 101 full-time faculty members at the College of Business at the University of Texas, Arlington. Eighty-nine percent have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree. Twenty-six percent are female and 74 percent are male. The College of Business Faculty have made many contributions to their field over the years. Within the last five years, for example, they have published 391 peer-reviewed articles, given presentations at universities and conferences over 450 times and have had their work cited by other scholars at least 99,000 times.

Student Body

Students at UT Arlington come from every state in the U.S.and from 120 different countries. There are 42,496 students enrolled in programs on-campus, with 14,167 of those students enrolled in graduate courses. There are 6,515 students in the College of Business, with 1,595 students enrolled in a master’s program. Out of the total students enrolled at the College, 42 percent are women, 10.2 percent identify as black or African American and 25.7 percent identify as Hispanic.

History

The University of Dallas is a co-educational, Catholic university that was founded in 1956. The Braniff Graduate School was established in 1966, when the school began to offer graduate business management programs. The Graduate School of Management was founded in 1969, due to the rapid growth of the Master of Business Administration.

The university established the College of Business in 2003. It was renamed the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business in the fall of 2013, honoring two alumni for a generous gift.

Locations

The main campus of The University of Dallas is located in Irving, Texas, about 20 minutes from Dallas and about 10 miles from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The campus sits on 225 acres that overlook both the Las Colinas Urban Center and the center of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. The University also has an international campus near Rome, Italy.

Facilities

A new 45,000-square-foot academic building for the Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business was completed in 2016. The building, known as SB hall, holds faculty offices, classrooms, and group study spaces. It also has LEED certification. Students at the College of Business have access to the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business Learning Center. The COB Learning Center can be found on the bottom floor of Blakley Library. There is also a Virtual Learning Center available to students online. Coaching is available for students that are in need of help with writing, finance or accounting and statistics.

Students can also get career help and guidance from the Office of Personal Career Development and the Center for Professional Development. The Office of Personal Career Development provides alumni and current students with career counseling and career development services and resources. The Center for Professional Development provides training and continuous learning for working professionals that are enrolled in the MBA program.

Faculty

There are 33 faculty members at the College of Business. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1. The average class size is 16.

History

The Neeley School of Business comprises the undergraduate and graduate schools of business at Texas Christian University. TCU is a private university, originally founded in 1873 by brothers Addison and Randolph Clark. The brothers first called their school “Add-Ran College,” after the first syllables of their first names. In 1884, the school of business at TCU first opened as the Commercial School. In 1910, the University was relocated to its current location in downtown Fort Worth and it first began to offer the masters in business administration degree (MBA) in 1938.  The AACSB accredited The School of Business in 1963. The business school was named in 1967 after M.J. Neeley, a long-term member of the Board of Trustees and financial contributor to the university.

Location

The Neeley School of Business is located on the TCU campus five miles from downtown Fort Worth, Texas. Located about 45 minutes from Dallas, Fort Worth is the fifth largest city in the state of Texas. Given Neeley’s situation within the larger Dallas-Fort-Worth Metroplex, a thriving economic and cultural hub, its students often benefit from access to mentorships, internships, and hiring by Metroplex corporations.

Facilities

As of August 2019, the first floors of the new Hays Business Commons complex at the Neeley School of Business officially opened to students. The Mary Couts Burnett Library recently underwent a remodel to add state-of-the-art technology and multimedia components. The LKCM Center for Financial Studies provides students interested in the field of finance the opportunities and tools needed to enhance their financial education. Students at Neeley also have 24-hour access to Bloomberg Business Terminals and Wharton Research Data Services. Neeley students can also participate in managing the $1.5 million student-run Educational Investment Fund. This opportunity gives top finance students hands-on experience in evaluating stocks and bonds as investments and managing assets. The center also holds various conferences and seminars.

MBA students also have access to the Center for Supply Chain Innovation. This is for students pursuing a concentration in Supply and Value Chain Management concentration. It helps to connect students with companies as well as provide top Supply and Value Chain Management education.

The Neeley Institute for Entrepreneurship was opened at Neeley in 2000. The center holds business competitions, provides advice for student entrepreneurs, helps students find internships at startups, provides students with free office and support space to launch and grow businesses, and hosts student clubs for entrepreneurs.

MBA students also have access to The Neeley Professional Development Center. The Center provides Neeley students with personal and professional training and coaching for presentations, business writing and career preparation.

In addition to the Professional Development Center, Neeley students also have access to the Graduate Career Services Center. The Graduate Career Services Center provides students with resume help, job search, networking events, career coaching, interview prep and skill building programs.

Faculty

There are currently 106 full-time faculty members at the Neeley School of Business. Around fifty percent are tenured faculty and 15 percent are tenure track. There are 24 faculty members that serve as academic journal editors. The student to faculty ratio is 13:1.

There are 152 students enrolled full-time in the Texas Christian University Neeley School’s MBA program and 228 enrolled part-time.

Women make up about 29 percent of master’s degree students at Neeley. About 10 percent of Neeley’s graduate students hold international citizenship, representing 16 countries.

History

Texas A&M-Commerce was established in 1889 as East Texas Normal College in Cooper, Texas. The campus was moved to its current location in 1894 after a fire destroyed the campus in Cooper. The school was renamed East Texas State Normal College in 1917, and again in 1923 to East Texas State Teacher’s College. Graduate programs were added in 1935 and the college became the East Texas State College in 1957 in recognition of the school’s broader curriculum. After the inauguration of the first doctoral program in 1962, the school was rebranded East Texas State University. The University became part of the Texas A&M University System in 1996 and was given the name it holds today, Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Locations

The College of Business is located on the Texas A&M – Commerce campus in the city of Commerce, Texas. Commerce is about a one-hour drive northeast of the Dallas metroplex. Additionally, Texas A&M Commerce students can pursue a MBA at the Universities Center at Dallas. Texas Commerce A&M also offers students the option to complete their MBA entirely online.

Facilities

The Gee Library, one of several Texas A&M – Commerce libraries, is open 24 hours. Students have access to computers, research materials, and group study rooms. The library also has a 24-hour laptop check-out service for students.

Students at the Commerce College of Business also have access to the Global Entrepreneurism Lab. The GEL offers materials from local, governmental, volunteer and other organizations dedicated to entrepreneurship. These are available to both students and local small business owners.

Commerce students can also utilize the office of Career Development on campus. Career Development offers students special events such as networking nights, job shadow programs, business etiquette dinners, career fairs, and job search workshops. The CD can also help students with resume and cover letter consultation, LinkedIn consultation, mock interviews, career assessment, and counseling and employment applications.

Texas A&M Commerce campus features several areas for student recreation, the most impressive of which is the Jerry D. Morris Recreation center. The $12 million state of the art Campus Rec Center includes a 45-foot rock-climbing wall, a three-lane jogging track, four racquetball courts, two basketball courts, a large fitness and aerobics room, a snack area, and locker rooms.

The outdoor area of the Rec Center includes a heated leisure pool, a two-tier hot tub with waterfall, two sand volleyball courts, two basketball courts, picnic tables, BBQ pits and a sunbathing area.

Faculty

Around 78 percent of students at Texas A&M Commerce identify as male, while 22 percent identify as female. Nearly 24 percent of the most recent class were born outside of the United States. Students entered the graduate school with around six years of prior average work experience.

A total of 987 students enrolled in the most recent MBA program at the College of Business. The median GMAT score is 460 and the average GPA is 3.0. History

Baylor University is a private Christian university. It was established in 1845. Baylor is the oldest continuously running university in the state of Texas. The Baylor Business School was established in 1923. The school offered its first bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1924. Admitted with provisional associate membership in the AACSB in 1950, the school was awarded complete associate membership in 1953. Full AACSB accreditation was achieved in 1959. The Hankamer Building was built in 1960, with the help of Earl Hankamer, a board member, who offered $500,000 toward the construction of the new building. The school was renamed the Hankamer School of Business in 1960 to honor the contribution from Mr. Hankamer’s.

Locations

The Hankamer School of Business is located on the 1,000-acre Baylor University campus located on the Brazos River, in Waco, Texas. Waco is located about an hour and a half from Dallas. Hankamer also has locations in Austin and Dallas for its Executive MBA programs.

In 2015 Baylor University opened the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation on the Baylor campus, where the school of business now operates from.

Facilities

Opened in 2015, The new Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation houses a brand new 275,000-square-foot building for the Hankamer School of Business. It expands the size of the Business School by almost 40 percent. It features classroom-learning spaces that are fully equipped with the latest classroom technology, a 350-seat auditorium and an adjacent Conference Center.

The Hankamer School is also home to several centers and institutions that provide students with access to research, technology, business support and other educational resources. Centers and institutions at the school include: The Technology Center, Center for Business & Economic Research, Center for Professional Selling, John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship, McBride Center for International Business, The Keller Center for Real Estate Sales & Marketing, Hodges Financial Markets Center and the Baylor Institute for Family Business.

Hankamer students have access to the Office of Career Management at Baylor University. Career Management staff work with students on personal branding, resume creation and review and interview preparation.

Faculty

There are approximately 200 faculty members at the Hankamer School of Business. With around 3,000 students enrolled in the business school the student to faculty ratio at Hankamer is about 19:1.
