Baylor University Online MBA Program Structure

The Baylor University Online MBA at the Hankamer School of Business is a new program at Baylor. It is an accelerated program that can be complete in 12 to 16 months. Students complete 12 courses or 48 credit hours for the program. Each course is four credit hours and completed in seven weeks. Students can complete the program part-time or full-time, depending on the number of courses taken per semester and the student’s schedule.

Curriculum

Students study business statistics, ethical leadership, manufacturing and service operations, strategic management, marketing and strategic communications. Students are able to complete the business foundation courses before beginning the online MBA curriculum to ensure an easy transition into the program. Business foundation courses cover the foundations of statistics, accounting, economics, finance and business law.

Class Profile

The average age of an online MBA students is 36. Students in the online program tend to have more work experience than those in the the campus-based program, with most students having at least six years of experience. The scheduling options for the program and the accelerated format give professionals the flexibility of completing their MBA without taking a leave of absence from work.

Careers

The Baylor Online MBA prepares students for leadership and managerial positions. Students come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds. Online MBA students have access to the Office of Career Management at Baylor University’s campus. Career Management staff work with students on personal branding, resume creation and review, business communication and interview preparation.

Tuition and Financial Aid

The cost of the Baylor online MBA for 2017-18 is $49,296 for students who have an AACSB-accredited bachelor’s degree in business. It is $58,296 for students who don’t have this type of degree. Students are also required to pay a one-time $50 application fee and a $100 administration fee per term.

Dean’s Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants each entering term based on an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above for undergraduate work. Dean’s Scholars receive $500 tuition credit per course.

International Fellows Scholarships are also available for students. These scholarships are awarded to applicants each entering term based on the student’s achievement in undergraduate studies based on a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above and four years or more of qualifying international experience to include international managerial experience or management of an international market sector while based in the United States.

Applicants must provide proof of qualifying international experience to be approved for this scholarship.

Military Scholarships are reserved for students in the Baylor MBA online program who have served in the military, including both active duty and veterans. Students who receive military scholarships are awarded $500 tuition credit per course.

Admissions Procedures

Either the GMAT or GRE is required for applications to the Baylor University Online MBA program. GMAT/GRE waivers may be granted to applicants that have at least four years of supervisory, management or leadership experience. There is no minimum GMAT or GRE score requirement. There is no professional work experience requirement for the online MBA program, though most students have at least six years of experience.

Applicants must complete three essays as part of the admissions process. These essays are 200 to 500 words that will give applicants the opportunity to share their qualifications, experiences and reasons for applying to the online MBA program.

Applicants must also provide a current resume that includes professional work experience, accomplishments and skills acquired, including managerial experience.

Other required documents for admission include contact information for two professional references, transcripts from all degree granting institutions (Baylor alumni do not have to submit transcripts) and TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic scores (for international applicants). Applicants are also required to pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (veterans and current military are not required to pay the fee).

The Baylor University Online MBA program has six different start dates for classes. Applications will be reviewed to begin in the next start date.
