Simmons Holds MBA Showcase
The next MBA showcase at the Simmons School of Management will be held March 26. The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Simmons School of Management. During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to hear firsthand how the Simmons MBA has opened up possibilities for women through its innovative curriculum, find out more information on the flexible full-time and part-time options career placement opportunities for students, and get details about the application process and financing options as well as other information needed to start the program in the Fall.
The event is free to attend and is open to all prospective students, alumni and current undergraduate students. Those interested in attending the event should complete an online registration form. Free parking is available for those who attend.
Nordstrom President Visits Mays for Keynote Speech
On March 11, Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School concluded the M.B. Zale Visionary Merchant Lecture Series with keynote speaker Blake Nordstrom, president of Nordstom, Inc.. The next information session for the College of Business and Economics at the California State University, Los Angeles MBA program will be held March 26. The information session will begin at 5 p.m. and last for one hour. The event is free to attend and open to alumni, current CSULA students, and prospective members of the public.

Fox Holds EMBA Open Class Day
The Fox School of Business will be holding an Executive MBA Open Class Day. The event will be held March 27 at The Hub Commerce Square (20th and Market). Prospective students interested in attending the event should register by sending an email to reserve their spot to William.Rieth@temple.edu.
Attendants are asked to arrive between 10 and 10:15 a.m. to meet with Fox representatives. The live class will begin at 10:30 a.m. Following the class at noon, attendants can join current students and faculty for lunch.
Zarb Holds Grad Business Information Session
The Frank G. Zarb School of Business will be holding a Graduate Business Information session. The event will be held April 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. The information session will be held in C.V. Starr Hall on the Hofstra University campus. The information session will cover the Evening MBA, Full-Time Day MBA, Online MBA and Executive MBA programs offered at Zarb. During the information session, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet with graduate faculty at Zarb as well as representatives from the Graduate Business Office and the Frank G. UC Davis Graduate School of Management will be hosting a Return on Investment Panel and Networking Mixer. The event will be held April 9 form 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Education Building. Suffolk Prof Offers Advice for Women in Business
Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School, Jodi Detjen offers advice for women who are trying to balance their work and family life. Professor Detjen addresses the issues that women face with trying to “have it all.” Detjen has interviewed hundres of college-educated women about their careers and work-life struggles.
Detjen recently co-authored “The Orange Line- A Women’s Guide to Integrating Career, Family and Life.” Along with her co-author, Kelly Watson, she has started Orange Grove Consulting. This innovating leadership development agency helps women and organizations to eliminate some of these common self-limiting assumptions that women have about work-life balance.
La Salle Holds Grad Studies Open House
The La Salle University School of Business will be holding an Open House for Graduate and Continuing Studies. The Open House will be held April 12 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The event will be held at the La Salle main campus in Philadelphia. All of the MBA programs at La Salle University are internationally recognized for having earned Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) accreditation. Less than five percent of business schools worldwide earn this distinction. Argyros FT MBA Ranked No. 8 in California
The Full-Time MBA program at the Argyros School of Business has been ranked no. 8 in the state of California and no. 83 nationwide by US News & World Report. The program had previously been ranked no. 120 in 2013. For the U.S. News Best Business Schools rankings, all 464 master’s programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International were surveyed in fall 2014 and early 2015. A total of 385 responded. These responses generated the ranking scores.
Out of the 385 total schools that responded, 126 provided enough data needed to calculate the full-time MBA rankings, based on a weighted average of the indicators. Indicators include a quality assessment, placement success and student selectivity. Other factors such as the average GMAT score, acceptance rate and employment rates for full-time program graduates are also considered.
D’Amore-McKim Holds PT MBA Information Session
The D’Amore-McKim School of Business will be hosting an information session for its part-time MBA program. The event will be held March 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Northeastern University Alumni Center. Attendants will have the opportunity to learn more about the program, meet faculty and members of the admissions team, get an over view of the admissions process and ask any questions you may have about any aspect of the program. The part-time MBA program at D’Amore-McKim School of Business is a flexible scheduled program that allows students to complete their MBA degree in as little as two years or as long as seven years. Students have the choice of committing to courses just one night a week, or to accelerate their degree by taking multiple classes to accommodate their schedules. Students also have the option of completing classes online and on Saturdays.
Stanford Holds MBA Information Session
The next information session for the MBA program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business will be held March 16 at 10:45 a.m. at the Knight Management Center. The information session will last for 90 minutes. During the event, prospective students will have the chance to learn more about the Stanford MBA, the admissions process and meet Admissions Office representatives to ask any questions about any aspects of the program. The MBA program at Stanford is a two-year, full-time general management program. Students in the program learn to develop their analytical and creative thinking skills as well as build leadership skills in an innovative environment. The program allows students to focus their educational efforts in areas such as environment, international development, healthcare and education by participating in the Public Management and Social Innovation certificate program in addition to completing the MBA program.
Anderson Hosts EMBA Info Session and App Tips Workshop
Anderson School of Management will be hosting an information session for its Executive MBA program. The information session will be followed by an application tips workshop for EMBA students. The events will be held April 4. The information session will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and the application tips workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration for both events should be completed online prior to the events.
The EMBA information session will give prospective students the opportunity to join current EMBA students and the Director of Admissions for breakfast. The event will be held at the Executive Divining Room at UCLA Anderson. Prospective students will hear more about the EMBA program, admission process and what an Executive MBA degree from Anderson can do for your career.
Smeal Hosts International Women’s Day Events
The Penn State Smeal College of Business has created a series of events to be held over the course of two weeks to celebrate International Women’s Day. The events were coordinated by the Women of Smeal initiative. The celebration will begin on March 18 with two events. The Smeal Executive MBA Program’s Women’s Leadership Forum is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the ACE Conference Center in Lafayette Hill, and a virtual session by co-author Sara Laschever about the importance of negotiation for women titled “Women Don’t Ask: The High Cost of Avoiding Negotiation — and Postive Strategies for Change” is slated for 125 Business Building.
Other events include, “Women and Money: Unique Challenges & Opportunities” by Farnoosh Torabi ’02 —a virtual session from 12:40 to 1:40 p.m. March 20 in 124 Business Building, “Financial Literacy Presentation” by Dr. Daad Rizk, Penn State’s financial literacy coordinator from noon to 1 p.m. March 24 in 124 Business Building and Striving Toward Awareness & Respect Tomorrow (S.T.A.R.T.) Conference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27 at the Nittany Lion Inn.
Graziadio Hosts Fully Employed Program Coffee Chat
The Graziadio School of Business and Management will be hosting an upcoming information session for the fully employed programs. This event, the Fully Employed Coffee Chat, will be held March 17 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Pain du Monde in Newport Beach, California.
During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet with a pre-admission advisor to learn more about the Fully Employed Programs at the Graziadio Business School. In addison to learning more about the program options, prospective students will also be able to learn more about the flexible course schedule offerings and career rescues available to Graziadio students. Davis Offers New Alumni Fellowship
UC Davis alumni who are planning to complete the Part-Time MBA program at UC Davis Graduate School of Management are now eligible for a new Alumni Fellowship program. The Aggie Pride Alumni Fellowship program is a scholarship award created to help fund alumni business education through promoting “Aggie Pride.” Recipients of the fellowship award can receive up to $3,000 toward their MBA education. Graduates of UC Davis are informally referred to as “Aggies,” reflecting the university’s 1905 founding roots as a land grant agricultural school.
To apply, applicants must write a short essay that describes how being a UC Davis graduate has had an impact on their career and how they will continue to promote “Aggie Pride” through completing their MBA degree at Davis. The scholarship is open to applicants seeking to begin their MBA studies in the fall 2015. Applications for the fellowship are due March 18. The deadline for applying for fall admission to the UC Davis MBA programs is May 20.
Booth Names Clifford Chiu Hong Kong Campus’ Executive-in-Residence
The Booth School of Business has appointed Clifford Chiu as the first Distinguished Executive-in-Residence for the school’s new Hong Kong campus. According to a press release by the University of Chicago, Chiu is a senior adviser at Neuberger Berman Group and at Angelo, Gordon & Co., as well as a non-executive director of Hsin Chong Construction Group and Cambium Learning Group. He retired last year as a partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., where he led capital raising and investor relations for the Asia Pacific region. Continue reading…

The Simmons School of Management will be hosting an information session for prospective undergraduate business students. This information session is for the BSBA/MBA program at Simmons. The event will be held March 26 at 5 p.m. The information session is for current Simmons College students that are intersted in jump starting their MBA while completing their undergraduate degree. Those intersted in attending the event can complete an event registration form online.
The benefits of completing the BSBA to MBA program at Simmons are that the program will save you money by allowing you to compete the MBA degree in an accelerated time frame, give you an opportunity to expand your network outside of your unicer graduate degree and give you more career opportunities after graduating with only the undergraduate degree. The program is offered in both part-time and full-time options with flexible scheduling.
