Merage School to Host Gregory Zuckerman

Gregory Zuckerman, award-winning Wall Street Journal reporter and best-selling author will be at the Costa Mesa Hilton on June 23 to discuss his national best selling book, “The Frackers: The Outrageous Inside Story of the New Billionaire Wildcatters.” The event is hosted by the Center for Investment and Wealth Management at UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, in partnership with Women Investing in Security and Education. It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The book looks into the nation’s move toward energy independence and the issues behind it. Zuckerman will also examine how the energy revolution has transformed the economy, geopolitics and the environment.

Gregory Zuckerman is a Special Writer at The Wall Street Journal.  He writes about big financial trades, hedge funds, private-equity firms, the energy revolution and other investing and business topics. Previously, Zuckerman wrote the widely read “Heard on the Street” column and covered the credit markets for the Journal.

In addition to writing “The Frackers,” Zuckerman has written several other books including, “The Greatest Trade Ever: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History.” In 2014, Zuckerman wrote a story revealing the friction between Bill Gross and Mohamed El- Erian that led to El-Erian’s departure from PIMCO. In 2012, he broke the story about disastrous trades by J.P. Morgan.
