Anderson Faculty Awards Presented

UCLA Anderson School of Management Dean Judy Olian and Faculty Chairman Randolph Bucklin presented the annual faculty awards on June 3, 2014. The annual faculty awards honor excellence in teaching, research, leadership and mentorship. Three faculty members will receive teaching awards, selected by the Teaching Improvement Committee.

Some of the winners include, N. Bugra Ozel, who teaches the FEMBA Financial Accounting core course was awarded the Dean George W. Robbins Assistant Professor Teaching Award, Noah Goldstein, who teaches the Leadership Foundations and Organizational Behavior core and a special class on Persuasion and Influence was awarded the Citibank Teaching Award and Carla Hayn, who teaches Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Corporate Finance and Accounting, and also serves as senior associate dean for the FEMBA and EMBA programs, was awarded the Neidorf “Decade” Teaching Award.

Other awards given were the Eric and “E” Juline Faculty Excellence in Research Award, which honors outstanding research among assistant professors, which was awarded to Guillaume Roels. Professor Kevin McCardle has been selected as the winner of this year’s J. Clayburn La Force Faculty Leadership Award, which honors outstanding service by faculty. McCardle has served as senior associate dean for the MBA program and chaired the Academic Senate Charges Committee.

Two additional awards will be presented to a faculty member and a student in the Ph.D. program. Professor Richard Roll received the 2014 Dean’s Prize for Outstanding Faculty Mentorship of Ph.D. Students, in recognition of his decades of mentorship and the excellent placement of his students and graduating Ph.D. student Paul Hoban will receive Xavier Drèze Prize for 2014, which was established in honor of the late Prof. Drèze and recognizes the most outstanding research paper by a Ph.D. student.
