Stanford ENCORE Award Program to be Held in Sept.

Stanford Graduate School of Business Alumni Association will hold the 2014 ENCORE Awards on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. This years’s ENCORE Awards will be held in honor of Netflix.

Each year since 1970, the Stanford GSB Alumni Association and the ENCORE selection committee recognizes a Bay Area company as the Entrepreneur of the Year (ENCORE). It is to recognize the company’s success based on the contributions of many people rather than one individual.

Netflix is the world’s leading Internet television network with over 48 million members in more than 40 countries enjoying more than one billion hours of TV shows and movies per month, including original series. For a low monthly price, Netflix members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on nearly any Internet-connected screen. Members can play, pause and resume watching, all without commercials or commitments.

The featured speaker for the event will be Reed Hastings, Founder & CEO of Netflix. The location of the event is still to be determined. Registration for the event will be at 6:00 p.m. The award presentation and remarks will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be a dinner and a dessert reception following the award presentation at 7:30 p.m.

Registration for the event will cost $60 per person. Stanford Young Alumni (2010 – 2014) registration cost is $45 until September 9, 2014. The event will cost $90 for any person, alumni or not, after September 9, 2014.
