Anderson Hosts CES Campus Event

UCLA Anderson School of Management will welcome the acclaimed CES (previously called the Consumer Electronics Show). The event will be held Jan. 8, 2015. This is the first campus-sized version of CES. The event will focus on new technologies and learning about them through talks, panels and keynotes as well as Technology Tables.

The themes of the event include the Internet of Things, Wearables, Robotics, Virtual Reality and Connected Cars. The event will be hosted by Anderson’s Easton Technology Leadership Program (ETLP) in association with the school’s High Tech Business Association, a student organization with more than 450 members that serves as the gateway to high-tech industry for UCLA Anderson students.

The mission of the Easton Program is to develop technology leaders through academic excellence and industry exposure. The program exposes students to the rapidly transforming technology landscape across different verticals including high-tech, defense, healthcare, education, entertainment and media, retail and financial services, from startups to large corporations.

The event will feature a conversation with UCLA Anderson Board of Visitors member Janice Chaffin (’81), former group president of Symantec Corporation’s Consumer Business Group. Other speakers include Ashwin Rangan, the first Chief Innovation and Information Officer for ICANN, Brennan Spiegel MD research partner at GI Logic and the Director Health Services Research at Cedars-Sinai Health System and Professor of Medicine and Public Health at UCLA and Janice Chaffin, Independent Board Director with Board positions on the International Game Technology, PTC, Synopsys and UCLA Anderson Board of Visitors.

There will also be two panel discussions covering wearable technologies and the Internet of things. There will also be a tradeshow featuring new technologies such as telescopes, health care technologies, Bluetooth devices and gaming technology.
