Neeley Discusses International Opportunities for Students

The Spring/Summer 2015 edition of Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business features a piece on the international opportunities available to Neeley undergraduate and graduate students.

Students in TCU’s traditional MBA program can travel to China, Costa Rica, Italy, Panama, and South Africa for immersive study experiences on a variety of topics each year. During summer 2015, three TCU MBA students will spend several weeks at the European Business School in Frankfurt.

“At Neeley, we lay a foundation for developing a global mindset through formal instruction, faculty members who participate in global research, and experiences such as Study Abroad Trips and semester abroad studies,” said Ray Pfeiffer, the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at Neeley.

Traditional MBA students aren’t the only TCU business students who have the opportunity to travel. Neeley Executive MBAs also have the opportunity to travel during their studies. This year, TCU Executive MBAs traveled to Argentina, Chile, and Peru to study how volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous economic environments affect business dealings. Master of Accounting students study global markets and international financial reporting in Greece, Turkey, Morocco, and Western European countries.

“Before the trip, I’d scan the headlines of The Wall Street Journal, read more detail about things happening in the U.S., but skip over news from around the world,” said Kim Speairs, a Neeley EMBA graduate from the class of 2014. “The EMBA Study Abroad program challenged me to take off my blinders to get the full story behind all the headlines.”
