President and CEO of HP Financial Services Speaks at Graziado Dean’s Executive Leadership Series

Dean's Executive Leadership Series

On September 29, 2015, the Graziado School of Business and Management welcomed Irving Rothman, president and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Financial Services, to address attendees of the Dean’s Executive Leadership Series (DELS).

The series invites business leaders to share their insights with the Graziado community and has in the past welcomed executives from areas as diverse as the motion picture industry, healthcare, technology and professional sports.

Rothman’s career in the IT leasing industry spans 30 years. He joined AT&T in 1985 and became a group president, subsequently leading the organization to become the second largest leasing company in the country. He then joined Compaq Financial Services Corporation (CFS), where he led that company from its founding in 1997. Under Rothman’s leadership, CFS grew in total business assets to $3.7 billion.

After the CFS/HP merger in 2001, Rothman proceeded to expand the reach of Hewlett-Packard leasing, which is the second largest captive IT leasing company in the world.  HP Leasing reported $3 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2011.

A graduate of Pepperdine’s MBA program, Rothman is the author of Out-Executing the Competition: Building and Growing a Financial Services Company in Any Economy.

The next DELS event will take place January 30, 2016, and will feature David Duncan, president and CEO of Silver Oak Cellars and managing partner of Twomey Cellars.
