Graziadio School of Business and Management Announces New Dean

Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management (Graziadio School) has announced the appointment of its new dean, Deryck J. van Rensburg.

Van Rensburg formerly served as president of global ventures for the Coca-Cola Company. Prior to that, he served various leadership roles at Unilever PLC across the globe, including Germany, the UK, Austria, Belgium, and South Africa.

In a recent press release, Pepperdine provost Rick Marrs said,

“Deryck brings a wealth of real-world corporate experience and business acumen to the Graziadio School and the University. We look forward to working with him as he transitions from the corporate world to the world of academia.”

At Coca-Cola, van Rensburg directed efforts in developing beverage trends in the U.S. and internationally. He was responsible for managing acquisitions, equity investments, and entrepreneurial partnerships, and led several divisions for the company in Berlin and Athens.

Of his appointment, van Rensburg said,

“Pepperdine Graziadio is a world-class business school where innovative program offerings and enhanced student experiences are at the forefront of building value-centered leaders. I’m excited to join this vibrant, thriving community…It will be a great honor to continue the momentum achieved under the leadership of Dean David Smith.”

Van Rensburg’s tenure will begin on November 1, 2016.
