Earn an MBA in London without the GRE or GMAT

If you are applying to an MBA program years after completing your undergraduate degree, the thought of taking an entrance exam can be understandably overwhelming. Even if you have a history of acing tests, the process of taking the GRE or GMAT for admission to an MBA program can be expensive, stressful and time consuming.

Luckily, not every MBA program requires the GRE or GMAT for admission. If you feel confident in your application, there may be no need to spend time and energy preparing for an examination. Rather, you can put that time towards advancing your career.

Several of our London business schools do not require a GRE or GMAT score for admission. These programs include:

Ashridge Business School (which in 2015 merged with Hult International Business School)

When applying for the Executive MBA program at Ashridge, students can choose to either take the GMAT or a Hult Business Assessment Test. While this doesn’t completely avoid test taking, it only requires knowledge in one area—business—which you likely already have experience in. By opting to take the Business Assessment Test, you can still save money and time studying subjects that won’t be relevant in your professional life.

In addition to the admissions test, Ashridge requires applicants to have three or more years of related experience, a current resumé, a personal essay of 400 to 500 words, two letters of recommendation and transcripts from all universities attended. The school also prefers applicants who can demonstrate their global mindset, perhaps by speaking more than one language or having lived/worked in more than country.

Henley Business School at the University of Reading

At the Henley Business School, the GRE or GMAT may or may not be required for the Full-Time MBA Program. For both the Executive MBA and Flexible Executive MBA, test scores are not listed as a requirement.

Requirements for the Full-Time MBA Program include:

  • Three years of professional work experience with demonstrated career advancement
  • Undergraduate honors degree
  • Evidence of English language proficiency

Requirements for the Executive MBA Program include:

  • Five years of management experience
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of English language proficiency
  • Ability to gain access to company data for certain assignments

Requirements for the Flexible Executive MBA Program are the same as above.

Imperial College Business School at Imperial College London
