Oxford Saïd MFE Retains Financial Times’ Number One Ranking

Oxford Said Business School

The Global Masters in Finance (MFE) program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (Oxford Saïd) has maintained its #1 Financial Times ranking in the UK, as announced in a June 20, 2016 press release.

The school moved up three spots to become 11th worldwide.

Renowned for its strong basis in theoretical and practical instruction, Oxford Saïd’s MFE program is a partnership between finance faculty and the department of economics. In consultation with industry leaders such as Bain & Company, Black Rock, The Bank of England and the China Development Bank, professors prepare students for real world scenarios from the get-go.

This year saw the inception of several new elements of the MFE, including participation in international training courses in Shanghai and New York as part of the corporate finance module. Many candidates gained access to this module through the Oxford Saïd Finance Lab, an extracurricular course for those who wish to supplement their studies with immersive training.

Students gained the opportunity to participate in such competitions as the CFA Institute Research Challenge, in which five MFE students took home the top prize. Also included as part of the module were exercises that challenged students’ knowledge and application of skill in asset management, private equity, and investment banking.

Dean Peter Tufano noted,

“Our position, embedded within the University of Oxford enables us to offer a unique experience for our students combining the excellence of our finance faculty alongside the most diverse and well-known groups of economists in the world enabling students to develop skills sought by leading financial recruiters… We are delighted to have maintained our position as the number one school in the UK.”
