Imperial College Business School Students Retain Winning Title in Financial Times FTMBA Quiz 2015

A team of students from Imperial College Business School have won the Financial Times FTMBA Quiz for the second year running.

The 2015 Quiz, open to business schools worldwide, was compered by FT management editor Andrew Hill and aimed to test teams’ knowledge of business topics. The Imperial team was made up of students Will Thorne, Adi Khera, Jonathan Lai and Stephen Zhang, and alumnus Ram Ananth.

Said team leader Will: “It was a pleasure to represent Imperial College at the recent FT MBA quiz, leading a brilliant team of students from across the business school. Considering that so many well-known business schools were taking part in support of the International Rescue Committee, we were delighted to have secured Imperial’s second victory in a row. The quiz is a real test of intelligence, skill and nous and the School is looking forward to a third win next year.”

Nine business schools took part, including Chicago Booth, LBS, Cass, Warwick Business School, and HEC Paris. Imperial won after going head-to-head with the University of St. Gallen in the final buzzer round. Held at the FT’s London offices, the quiz also raised £40k for humanitarian charity International Rescue Committee (IRCuk).

The quiz also marks the launch of the annual FTMBA Challenge, in which teams submit proposals to address a humanitarian issue. This year focused on how to improve management and support of healthcare workers and the delivery of immunisation.
