Drucker Announces New Dean

Tom Horan, director of Claremont Graduate University’s Center for Information Systems and Technology and co-director of the Transdisciplinary Studies Program, has been selected to serve as the next Dean of the Drucker School of Management. The current Dean, Larry Crosby, announced his retirement, effective on June 30. Over the next two months, Dean Crosby will work with Horan, Drucker faculty and staff and school-university working group to ensure that his momentum of success will continue.

While serving as dean of the Peter F. Drucker School of Management, Horan also will continue to serve as the director of CISAT. Under his guidance, CISAT and Drucker faculties will explore natural synergies in academic programming. CISAT will continue to  offer technical masters and doctoral degrees.

Horan earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from CGU and has served on the faculty for more than two decades. As director of CISAT, Horan has grown student enrollments and created valuable connections with businesses and technology leaders, both locally and globally. He also has been the driving force behind CGU’s Big Data Initiative, which has brought students and industry partners to the university.

While serving as Dean of the Drucker School for the last two year, Dean Crosby has lead the School through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) re-accreditation process, helped to focus the school’s strategy and expanded its footprint in the creative industries with the launch of the Center for Management in the Creative Industries and has positioned the school to be a growing force in Southern California’s vibrant supply chain economy. Horan will take over as Dean of Drucker on July 1.
