Creative Professionals Can Thrive With Ashridge’s New MBA

Beginning in October 2016, Ashridge Business School will offer an Executive MBA for the Creative Industries. The degree is perfectly suited to either the professional already working in the creative sector or to those looking to make a transition to the field.

The program is a partnership between Creative Skillset and Atticus Education, two organizations that encourage development of creative skills through training and advocacy. Executives from fields including television, film, fashion, advertising and publishing will serve on the program’s Advisory Board.

The MBA for the Creative Industries will aim to train candidates in expanding their technical, critical, and practical skills within an increasingly digitized and globalized economy. Offered over two years, the MBA will offer online courses, as well as attendance during four residential weeks. Three of the residencies will take on campus, and one will be overseas, in a location that has yet to be determined.

Faculty will include Sonita Alleyne, founder of the Yes Programme, which aims to train high school students for the workforce; David Puttnam, film producer and chair of Atticus Education; Katie Espiner, Managing Director of Orion Publishing Group; and Tony Orsten, director and former executive for the BBC and Viacom and current CEO of The Imaginarium Studios.

David Puttnam said, “It is essential that the creative industries are led by people who can skillfully and knowledgeably navigate companies through the challenges of the digital era.”

Applications will be due by August 2016, and scholarships will be offered.
