Henley Honors African Business Leaders with Fellowship
Henley Business School at the University of Reading has granted the 2015 Grooming for Greatness (G4G) Fellowship to Glory Edozien, a 2009 doctoral graduate of the University.
G4G provides African people across the world with access to leadership opportunities, with a focus on developing the visibility of Africa in the global marketplace.

Albers School of Business and Economics – Seattle University
History
The Albers School of Business and Economics is part of Seattle University, a private, Jesuit Catholic University founded in 1891. The school earned accreditation from the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools and Business (AACSB) in 1965, and the MBA program became AACSB accredited in 1980. The school is one of the 28 Jesuit universities in the United States.
Business education at Seattle University and the Albers School itself evolved to its namesake over the course of several decades. Business degrees were first awarded by Seattle University (then Seattle College) in 1937. The School of Commerce and Finance was established in 1945 and began granting MBAs in 1967. Another name change came in 1968, as the School of Commerce and Finance became the School of Business. In 1976, the school was renamed to honor the support of Eva and George Albers, and in 1990 “Economics” was made part of the name.
Location
Seattle University is in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, which is also noted for being home to hospitals, churches, museums, and other schools. It’s within walking distance of downtown Seattle and landmarks like the Seattle Public Library’s Central Library. Seattle itself is home to the headquarters for such companies as Amazon, Nordstrom, and Starbucks.
The Albers main campus is located less than 15 miles away from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Faculty
Albers lists nearly 100 faculty members, with an average faculty-to-student ratio of 12:1. The school’s recent publications include The Journal of Leadership Education and The International Journal of E-Business Research.
Student Body
There are 631 students most recently enrolled in the various MBA programs at the Seattle University Albers School of Business and Economics.
MBA Degree Offerings
Albers offers three types of MBAs that serve students in different stages of their careers. The full-time Bridge MBA Program is for recent graduates who did not major in business and who have little to no work experience. The Professional MBA Program is full-time or part-time for students with at least two years of work experience. Finally, the Leadership Executive MBA is for students in mid to senior-level roles with at least seven years of experience. Classes for the LEMBA meet once a month.
Foster School of Business – University of Washington
History
The business school at the University of Washington was founded in 1917 and named for Michael G. Foster beginning in 2007. The school is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

Location(s)
Five of the school’s buildings are located in Seattle, Washington: Dempsey Hall, PACCAR Hall, the Bank of America Executive Center, the Foster Business Library, and Mackenzie Hall. The Eastside Executive Center is located in Kirkland, Washington, and houses the Technology Management MBA. The campus is close to a variety of music and arts scenes, as well as major companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Starbucks.
The main campus is located less than 20 miles away from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Facilities
The aforementioned Dempsey Hall opened in 2012, which is the current headquarters for the dean’s office, MBA offices, Arthur W. Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship, MBA and undergraduate career centers, as well as classrooms. The 65,000 square foot building has direct access to the adjacent PACCAR Hall and Bank of America Executive Center.
PACCAR Hall, located in the northern central point of the UW campus, is a 135,000 square-foot building that features classrooms, faculty offices, a 250-seat auditorium, a cafe, and more. It officially opened in fall 2010.
The Bank of America Executive Center is mostly for Executive MBA students, containing offices, classrooms, and lounge spaces.
The The Eastside Executive Center, located in Kirkland, Washington, acts as the official home to the Technology Management MBA program.
Mackenzie Hall, home to the Foster School Advancement and Alumni teams, contains the central offices of the Foster School’s Consulting & Business Development Center.
Faculty
With 83 faculty members, the Foster School of Business’ professors and lecturers are involved in research–45 percent of them participate in the review process at top academic journals. Their work has been included in publications such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Social Psychology and Personality Science, and the Journal of Consumer Psychology.
Student Body
Roughly 46,000 students are currently enrolled at the University of Washington, with over 700 MBA students in the Foster School of Business, and approximately 2,500 students in the business school overall.
MBA Degree Offerings
The school offers full-time, Hybrid Online, Evening, and Executive MBA options, as well as a Technology Management MBA and a Global Executive MBA.
Master’s Degree Offerings
The school offers three one-year evening and weekend master’s programs: Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Science in Information Systems, and Master of Supply Chain Management.
In addition, there are three full-time master’s degrees ranging from nine months to a year: Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Science in Entrepreneurship, and Master of Science in Taxation.
Cass EMBA Student Is Finalist for Honor
An Executive MBA student at Cass Business School-City University London is on the shortlist for The Independent MBA Student of the Year Award presented by the Association of MBAs. Cass EMBA student Simon Cooper is one of six finalists for the honor, according to a press release from the school.

San Diego Ranked as Top 10 City for Job Growth in 2015
San Diego, California was ranked as one of the top 10 cities for job growth in 2015, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The ten cities on the list have experienced the strongest non-agricultural job growth over the first three quarters of 2015. Overall, projections from the study show that the U.S. could add as many as three million jobs this year—a 2.2% monthly average job growth. San Diego tied for eighth place with Denver and Portland with a 3.1% job growth for 2015. San Diego’s growth beat out overall California growth, which was up just 3.0% for the year. Continue reading…
Texas Entrepreneur Will Join Convocation Ceremony for CT Bauer Graduates
On December 18th, the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston will host a convocation ceremony for over 700 graduating students. The event will take place in the Hofheinz Pavilion on the University of Houston campus and will include a keynote address by Elizabeth Killinger, president of NRG Retail and Reliant.
Innovation at Scheller Means More Opportunities for Students with Disabilities
The Georgia Institute of Technology has recently begun to offer opportunities for high school graduates with mild intellectual and developmental disabilities. This new program, which originated at GT’s Scheller College of Business and is entitled ‘Excel,’ will provide these students with the chance to build their education, life skills, and even focus on career exploration.
Exploring Entrepreneurship Opportunities for MBAs
While ten years ago MBA programs were mostly focused on helping applicants achieve their dream career in corporate America, that’s no longer the case. Many MBA graduates are starting to become less interested in traditional jobs and more interested in starting their own companies. In fact, a recent study of over 30,000 Wharton MBA graduates showed that more than seven percent of 2013 grads started their own companies, five times as many as in 2007. And Stanford reported a record 16 percent of its MBA graduates launching startups in 2012. This clear shift in graduate desires has also caused a change in the focus of many business schools. Saïd Business School Bestows Second MBA Scholarship for Women
María Belén Muñoz Toro, a Chilean student who will enter Oxford University’s Saïd Business School in January 2016, was awarded the second Oxford Executive MBA Scholarship for Women.
Oxford Saïd offers the scholarship in association with the 30% Club, an organization that works to promote gender diversity on corporate boards. Toro is a Product Supply Manufacturing Site Leader and Initiative Manager at Proctor and Gamble’s Prestige Fragrances.

Michigan Ross Executive MBA Program Structure
Michigan Ross EMBA classes meet once per month on Fridays and Saturdays over the course of 21 months. The five-term program can be taken both in Ann Arbor and the school’s satellite campus in Los Angeles, with students on both campuses following the same schedule. Between on-campus residencies and the other in-person projects, students complete work through online courses, allowing for an easier work-school schedule balance. The school estimates that between 20-25 hours per week are dedicated to online work.
Curriculum
The bulk of Ross EMBA student’s core courses are completed within the first two terms of the program, which starts in August. In the third term, students begin elective coursework, leading to the required ExecMAP (Multidisciplinary Action Projects) in the fourth term. Throughout the entire program, Ross EMBA students complete the leadership development experience, which helps carefully craft the student’s career goals and development.

Class Profile
Combined, the Ann Arbor and Los Angeles Ross School of Business Executive MBA program features 124 students. They have about 15 years of work experience and are, on average, 38-years old. Women make up about 27 percent of the cohort, with international students comprising of about 20 percent. The average salary of the cohort is $191,396.
Career Statistics
About half of the students in the Ross EMBA program earn a promotion while earning their degree, while 90 percent of grads earn a salary increase within 18 months of earning the degree. The salary increase is around 26 percent.
Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid
Tuition for Michigan residents during the entirety of the Michigan Ross Executive MBA program is $163,000. Out-of-state students pay a tuition rate of $168,000. A non-refundable $5,000 deposit is required to hold a spot in the program. Tuition covers the cost of books, on-campus meals, software, and other materials, but not travel costs.
Applicants can help fund their education through federal and private loans, although the type of loan offered may vary by student.

All application requirements for any of the Ross Executive MBA programs are as follows:

Cal State Long Beach Students Aim High for Boeing Competition
A group of 11 California State University, Long Beach students participated last month in the Boeing Business Case Study Competition, advancing to the final round.
The group, who gave themselves the name “Team Enigma,” will have the chance to tour the corporation’s satellite facilities and network with high-level executives to explore job options. Each team member is enrolled in CSULB’s Accelerated MBA program.

LBS, Saïd in Top 10 of New EMBA Ranking
Four London metro business schools made the list of the 2016 Best Executive MBA Programs compiled by the careers site Ivy Exec, with two of the London schools landing in the top 10.
London Business School came in at No. 4, making it Ivy Exec’s highest-ranked EMBA program outside the United States. Saïd Business School – University Of Oxford was No. 10.
