Henley Faculty Members Honored for Papers

Two faculty members at Henley School of Business-University of Reading received awards for their papers at the recent European International Business Academy (EIBA) Conference in Rio de Janeiro, according to press releases from the school.

Rajneesh Narula was one of the authors of the Best Paper in the track “Foreign Entry mode and management of the value chain,” Henley reported. Narula, the John H. Dunning Chair of International Business Regulation at Henley, shared the honor with co-authors Dr. Stefano Elia (Politecnico di Milano) and Silvia Massini (University of Manchester). The title of their paper was “Disentangling the role of modularity and reconsidering the entry mode choice theories: the case of business service offshoring.”

According to his faculty bio, Narula researches and consults on “the role of multinational firms in development, innovation and industrial policy, R&D alliances and outsourcing.” His publications include more than 100 articles and book chapters.

Additionally, Henley’s Peder Greve was one of the co-authors of the Best Paper in the track “FDI in and from emerging market economies,” Henley reported. Greve, a lecturer in international business, wrote the paper “Top management team influence and discretion in foreign market entry mode decisions” with Mathias Imbach and Winfried Ruigrok from the University of St. Gallen.

Greve teaches in Henley’s Executive and Flexible Executive MBA programs, according to his faculty bio. His research interests include international mobility and diversity in management teams at multinational enterprises.

EIBA is a network of business people and academics that works to share information and promote international exchange on international business.
