University of Reading Executive MBA Program Structure

The University of Reading Executive MBA program at Henley Business School takes place over the course of 21 months, and students must attend 3-4-day workshops once a month.


The University of Reading Executive MBA requires that all students take almost all the same courses in the same order. The first term is comprised of Managing Processes and Systems, Managing Financial Resources, Managing People, and Leadership and Personal Development. Courses in the second term are Strategy, International Business, Strategic Marketing, and Reputation & Responsibility. Reputation & Responsibility includes an International Study Visit. The final term comprises Leadership & Change, a Management Research Challenge (which requires a choice between a dissertation and an integrated business project), and a choice between an Elective and an International Study Visit.

Students entering the University of Reading Executive MBA program generally have at least nine years of professional management experience before joining.

Admissions Procedures

To be admitted to Henley Business School, students are required to have five years of management experience, an advanced degree, competence in English, and access to company data for assignments.

Henley also welcomes applicants with exceptional management experience (a minimum of five years’ experience at a senior or strategic level) who may not meet all the formal criteria for admission, such as an undergraduate degree.
