Babson Blended Learning MBA Program Structure

The Babson Blended Learning MBA in San Francisco is a part time flexible program that combines about 20 weekly hours of online learning with classroom lessons every seven weeks on Fridays and Saturdays.

Curriculum

Curriculum for the Babson Blended Learning MBA program includes core classes such as

Entrepreneurship and Opportunity, Financial Reporting, Managing Talent, and Strategy. The curriculum also includes cohort-style face-to-face lessons as well as virtual collaboration.

The program offers a series of Signature Learning Experiences (SLE), which are unique courses that offer experiential learning opportunities outside of the classroom.  Students also participate in a capstone project at the conclusion of their program.

The concentrations available include: business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, global management, and marketing.

Students earn 46 credits over 21 months to complete their Blended Learning MBA.

Class Profile

Students in the Blended Learning MBA typically have around 11 years of professional experience. They come from 5 U.S. states, and the 7% who come from outside the U.S. represent a number of countries.  66% of the students in this program are male, whereas 44% are female. Fifteen percent of enrollees are non-white.

Careers

Babson’s Center for Career Development supports students in a variety of ways including personal branding and identifying both internship and full-time opportunities. Students may be paired with external coaches for one-on-one advisory discussions. The university also offers many group events, including speakers, forums and competitions. Students have access to a sizeable professional network of board members and alumni who share experiences with students.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Approximate tuition for the Babson Blended Learning MBA is $82,000. Books and supplies cost an additional $3,000.

Applicants may be considered for the $5,000 Blended Learning MBA Scholarship, which are made to highly qualified candidates based on academic, professional and personal merit. Funds are split evenly over awardees’ first two terms.

Students may also apply for federal student aid programs.

Admissions Procedures

Students apply online to attend Babson. In addition to a completed application form, the following are also required to apply to the Babson Blended Learning MBA program: two essays, résumé, two (non-academic) letters of professional recommendation, official transcripts (submitted in a sealed envelope), and an application fee of $100.

GMAT or GRE scores are not required for most Blended Learning applicants, although the admissions committee may determine that such a score is indeed required based on application material.

International students whose native language is not English or who have not received an undergraduate or graduate degree from an English-speaking country must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.  You may obtain a waiver from this requirement if you have worked in the U.S. full time for at least two consecutive years.  International students must also submit English translations of college transcripts, as well as descriptions of foreign institutions attended.

Application Deadlines

For October enrollment at the San Francisco campus, application deadlines are May 1, June 1, June 15, July 15, August 1, September 1, or October 1. For October enrollment at any campus, application deadlines are May 1, June 15, August 1 or September 1.

International students should submit their applications as early as possible to ensure sufficient visa and relocation time.

The program also offers admissions on a rolling basis, meaning that the college accepts and reviews applications until the program is filled to capacity.
