Jack Welch College of Business MBA Structure

A total of 36 credit hours of graduate coursework are necessary for completion of the Welch MBA program for candidates who are waived from the foundational coursework. Those who are not waived will need up to nine additional credit hours of foundational coursework.


The 36 credit program can be completed in just one year for full-time students and two years for part-time MBAs. Full-time students complete 12 credits in the fall, winter, and spring semesters, respectively. However, full-time students can also take additional classes in the summer semester. Part-time students typically complete six credits worth of classes per semester, taking all core courses within the first fall, winter, and spring semesters. However, unlike the full-time program, students can adjust their schedules, offering unique flexibility for professionals working during their schooling.

Class Profile

A reported 100 students are enrolled in the Jack Welch College of Business full-time and part-time MBA programs. An estimated 39 percent of MBA students are women, and about 14 percent are considered underrepresented minority students.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The current tuition of the Jack Welch College of Business MBA program is $935 per credit. In total, the 36-credit program adds up to $33,660.

Select active military members and veterans may be eligible for the GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program to help earn additional funding for their education.


Applicants to the Jack Welch College of Business MBA program must provide: a résumé; two letters of recommendation; a personal statement; official transcripts from previously attended undergraduate institutions; a non-refundable $75 application fee; and official GMAT/GRE scores. Applicants must have maintained an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in order to be eligible for the graduate school program.

Applicants that have less than two years of previous professional work experience must submit a GMAT score of at least 400. Those that have two or more years of experience, however, must score at least a 500 on the GMAT. However, a GMAT waiver may be available for select students.
